Great Aquarium Heater Heaters

Our aquatic turtle has ruined many heaters that have hit the aquarium. No matter where we place the heater, it can reach them and hit the tank with them. I was very skeptical about this heater but let me tell you the suction cups hold up well and our turtle hasn't been able to pull them off so far. The temperature is accurate and as mentioned, the suction cups are great!

Pros
  • Ideal for a Small Home
Cons
  • Repair

Great products from Zoo Med.

I've only kept it in my turtle's habitat for 3 days because it's finally getting cold here in Florida. I love that the suction cups just fit onto the tank and it feels very secure so none of my precious babies get stuck in the heater, unfortunately this has happened to me with another brand. I love Zoo Med products so I'm sure I won't be disappointed over time.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • No instructions

THAT DOES NOT WORK! DO NOT BUY!

This thing is terrible! HE CANNOT DETERMINE THE TEMPERATURE OF YOUR TANK! Following the directions I put it in my turtle tank and it read 34 degrees Fahrenheit which was inaccurate but even in that cold it never turned on! it stayed at 34 degrees despite having a much better heater in the tank, and the thermometer read 76 degrees. And has never turned on USEFUL and will most likely kill someone's pet!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not bad

Great heater with amazing suction power!

Love it! I have a Spiny Softshell Turtle that has been able to remove 3 heaters so far because its suction power wasn't strong enough! He tried to shoot this one daily but to no avail. The water temperature also remained unchanged. I highly recommend this heater, the aquarium I currently have it in is 40 gallons. I plan to convert it to 50 gallons this summer. By the way, his name is Squinsy.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Something different

Exactly what I was looking for.

This is the perfect heater for my two turtles. I've tried longer thermometers, but my turtles (on purpose) stumbled upon them. The first thermometer I received was damaged. This may have happened during shipping. However, the customer service was fantastic. I received a new replacement before returning the damaged one. The suction power is excellent and keeps the tank temperature at a perfect 79 degrees. I highly recommend this product.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • unreliable

That does not work! - Aquarium Heater

Don't waste your time and money if you don't need a cold aquarium! I installed it exactly as the instructions said, I didn't even check the tank afterwards because the screen said 81 degrees, which is slightly more than the suggested 78 degrees it should be preset to. No big deal, right? It was in a 30 gallon tank so it doesn't look like it was in a huge one where it wouldn't have enough power to heat the water. I didn't think about it because it said the temp was 81 but today was tank cleaning

Pros
  • Cool Product
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Runs hotter than advertised. Stop working in less than 2 months.

This heater heats up to 78 degrees. I have to keep pouring cold water into the turtle tank to cool it down. Always 79 or 80 degrees. It definitely keeps the water warm. I like the digital display. This is a very good feature. One suggestion would be to make it manageable. I wish I could lower it a bit. Otherwise it is a good heater for my aquarium. Update: The heating no longer works. It has an E1 error stating that there is no more water but is completely submerged. I turned it off and waited…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Useless features

So far I don't like the suction cups, one didn't work as it kept tipping over so couldn't stick them all. I finally found that if I applied very little pressure to fasten it, it wouldn't tip over. But I know my turtles will end up messing with it and end up reversing it. The real problem is the thermometer, it's annoying. This is about 2 or 3 degrees above normal and doesn't register accurately at all. When I check the water temperature with my handheld laser thermometer, I get very accurate…

Best Aquarium Heater Heaters and Coolers

Turtles are notorious for destroying everything in their aquariums and my Red-Eared Slider is no exception. Seriously, she will attack anything that gets into her aquarium, especially those with heaters. I used to buy a heater that just stuck to the wall with hooks, but my tortoise kept knocking it out of its mount and eventually it just broke. We have a sandy substrate in our aquarium and the old heater was not getting enough air when knocked out and ended up just cracking and not working…
