Stopped working after an hour

The uncapping knife worked for about 1 hour and then would not heat up no matter what I did. I need to return it. After the first use, this knife quit working. It would pop the electrical braker when being plugged in.!

Pros
  • Handle very large.
Cons
  • After the first use, this knife quit working. It would pop the electrical braker when being plugged in.

Not useable - my new review

Terrible quality. Instructions say to submerge in water to control temperature yet the edges of the knife are not sealed. When submerged, the knife fills up with water and drains out as you use it. This knife is unusable, unless you like water in your honey.

Pros
  • Plug it in and it just glides down your honey frame. Dont overheat and burn your honey.
Cons
  • The uncapping knife only works on specific frames and may not be suitable for all beekeeping setups, making it less versatile compared to other tools available in the market.

Worth the upgrade: my feedback

In past years we used a serrated uncapping knife and this year we used this knife. It works amazing. There is no on or off, only the plug. To keep it cooler when we weren't using it we kept it in a bucket of water, though when we took it out, we had to wait a minute for it to warm up to use.

Pros
  • Have not needed to use this yet but it appears to be really well made, good quality uncapping knife
Cons
  • The electric knife can be dangerous to use, especially for inexperienced beekeepers, as it may overheat and cause burns or injuries.
