I was happy with both the reception and the low price

I bought two of these radios, both at very low prices. Initially, I was satisfied with both the reception and the reasonable price in both cases. Both times, however, the radios suddenly stopped working, with no indication that anything was wrong. After the first one which I bought new but at a low price fell apart I decided to buy a second new one which I also got at a low price as I believed the first one will deteriorate, this is just a rare event. . nope The second did the same: it started…

Perfect! - Radios

I work in Boston and like to listen to Sox afternoon games. Buildings have interfered with FM reception on my previous radios, but not on this one - I can listen at work or during a mile-long walk to the pier to catch a commuter boat without losing signal. The on/off button stays in place - don't worry, it turns on when it's in my pocket when not in use. The tuning knob doesn't dangle like other radios - no matter what station I choose, the tuning knob stays on. Even if the commute is far from…

Decent radio for just under $20

This is a good radio for the price and the headphones that come with are pretty good too, good base and nice feel. Tuning stations is easy and the tuning knob rotates easily. I can tune into one of my favorite local FM stations on 107.7" and it sounds pretty clear. When I got it they were playing a football game so I was a bit disappointed because the day I got it , couldn't listen to rock music. in China. And like most things made in China, it's usually made cheaply to save the company money…

Basic radio for personal radios

I bought this radio to use while working outdoors so I was looking for something relatively lightweight. This Sony Walkman, on the other hand, is fairly light and the clip holds it fairly securely. Of course, radio is important for its ability to pick up stations and reproduce sound. As for getting channels, I've never been able to get a solid "lock" on the local NPR station (88.9). I could pick up another station clearly "before" an NPR station, and I could pick up the same station just as…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Damaged

I have two that I bought many years ago. I had the first one and liked it so much I bought another to keep in the car in case I forgot to pack it. I'm an avid sports fan and have season tickets to multiple sports at both the collegiate and pro levels. I like to play while I watch and this is the perfect radio. Yes it's old school but it's very solid and has a great sound for what I use it for. With analog tuning and a Local/DX switch I can tune in to many stations that digital radio can't even…

Great for the price, but with drawbacks

It's clear to me that people like to rave about this radio. For $15, it's hard to complain too much about what it offers. The physical construction seems solid enough that Sony even includes a pair of inexpensive headphones suitable for listening to AM talk radio. PROS: * Sound seems suitable for talk radio, with noticeable mids and good vocal clarity; lacks bass* Small and light; sort of a "pocket" radio that you can put in your shirt pocket!* AGC (Automatic Gain Control) is awesome; with AM…

Pros
  • Hands-free

  • I don't like it at all, everything is fine

Excellent AM performance / HUGE sound on FM

I stumbled across the Sony SRF59 at a local store and liked it so much I bought another. Now that I haven't come across a small laptop to compare to, I bought another one from Revain. Yes, now I have 3 of these and will be ready when they are posted. The SRF59 has almost achieved cult status among AM-DX listeners. We're people who like calling AM and trying to hear stations from a great distance late at night and early in the morning and the SRF59 delivers that. Sensitivity and selectivity on…
