I like the product very much, fully consistent with my expectations.

Good lens. For a mirrorless camera, itโ€™s almost perfect whale (oncompeting systems there are only Panasonic H-PS14042 and Samsung S2050NB, but the first is too expensive, and the second is plastic and without a stabilizer). Pros
  • Compact. Not much protrudes beyond the palm rest. With it, a mirrorless camera is comparable in size to a medium-sized soap dish. Stabilized. Helps when shooting in bad conditions. Cutting. Although under certain circumstances it can be written down as a minus, but fans of pixel hunting will like it. Comes with NEX-6, NEX-3N and NEX-5R (the latter has RL and RY trim levels). Outwardly, it looks great and the metal case pleases to the touch.
Cons
  • Fully mechanized. The focus ring is not very convenient to work due to delays. Focal changes rather slowly. At a wide angle, there are noticeable distortions that the camera itself corrects if it "knows" the lens. The first generations of NEX (3, 5, C3), as far as I know, did not receive a firmware ate: they will have to edit the raw ones. With it, the camera starts for a long time: about 2 s (until the pipe crawls out). In terms of aperture, nothing outstanding, but no failures either. Here is the gradation of the maximum aperture by focal length: 16-18mm-F3.5, 19-23mm-F4, 24-29mm-F4.5, 30-35mm-F5, 36-50mm-F5.6. Focal 50mm on crop 1.5 is not enough. Often not enough. Solution: either crop the picture on the computer, or hold the second lens (SEL55210).

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

Bought for eight dollars (Amazon was offering a discount at the time), not counting on anything good, but after taking a picture, I realized that it was inferior to expensive ones, except perhaps only in the range of focal lengths and, of course, aperture.   • Completely content. The Alpha 6600's clarity is determined pixel by individual pixel. Maintaining stability in the absence of dissent And one of the best in my collection in terms of flare while shooting into the light from the rear (at the level of 35 mm 1.8 oss).
Cons
  • The focal length is adjusted not by turning the ring as one might expect, but rather by sliding a button; this is NOT a flaw, but rather a novel design choice.

Almost what I expected

It's even lighter than I hoped and can focus on several points. It zooms and also has an optical zoom, and my photos come out as sharp, detailed and full of color as with my other lenses. It's even easy to attach to a lens hood and fine-tune manually. This is a genuine Sony lens that got to me safely, albeit without the original packaging. But it definitely arrived brand new with both lens caps. I'm in love with this lens.

Good lens. Without papers for the lens

good lens. There is no documentation for the lens. Maybe gray market as it was "packaged in bulk". However, it works perfectly. A good replacement for the kit lens that came with my Sony A6000 which failed (camera 'doesn't recognize' the lens when installed) as it is not covered under warranty. (My other lenses worked fine). Sony offered me $156 for an INSPECTION once I send it to an authorized repair shop! Paid about the same for this new one and got it in just a few days! Many Thanks.

Perfect for my needs

I'm glad I didn't listen to all the negative reviews. That's exactly what I wanted. The lens that came with my Sony A5000 suddenly stopped working. Everywhere I looked, this lens was bundled with everything I didn't need or need, and it was priced at over $200. Then I stumbled across it. The lens was carefully bubble wrapped, folded into a small box and then shipped in a bubble envelope. It included a lens cap and a storage cap. No frills or extra junk at the perfect price. The lens worksโ€ฆ

The best all-round lens for the A6000.

The most useful "whale" lens for my Sony A6000 camera. I broke the original SELP1650 I had with the camera when I dropped it. The few weeks I was without it really made me appreciate the lens. I always leave it in front of the camera, especially when I want to travel light. I also have a 50mm prime and a longer kit zoom, 55-210. The SELP1650 is by far the most commonly used. When I carry my street camera with me, it's ready for anything. This lens is the most versatile and easiest to carryโ€ฆ

Exact replacement for a broken Sony A6000 kit lens

I ordered a SELP1650 16-50mm Power Zoom lens to replace the exact same lens that came with my Sony A6000. The lens is very versatile, small and has a decent range for a small zoom lens. I had a small accident where the zoom ring was bent and the lens could not be recognized because the zoom body was locked. In the future I intend to repair the lens by purchasing a bent ring, but for now I have ordered an exact replacement to continue shooting. The lens arrived quickly and works the same as theโ€ฆ

Great replacement for a kit lens!

Bought this lens for the original NEX-5 as it was purchased without it. I used a kit lens from another NEX camera on this NEX-5. The sharpness of this pancake lens and the kit lens is very similar. The size of this 16-50mm is just over half that of a kit lens. The width between them is about the same. This pancake lens is almost the size of a 16mm f/2.8, just 4mm longer. Keep in mind that this lens almost doubles in length when it's on. It is no problem for me. On older NEXs like the original 5
