Totally Happy Suitable for compact radios and stereo systems

What can I say, Sony quality, small dimensions thanks to "vertical" design and all functions with discreet controls. Complaints about other systems not having a "dimmable" display led me to investigate this system and I'm perfectly happy with it. Controls need to be explored by touch, and tactile buttons help you navigate the location of the main buttons. I like this system and really worry less about losing analogue TV reception. Sleep timer, CD, 10 programmable FM radio stations and weatherโ€ฆ

Easy to use but maybe not very comfortable for sleeping

This is an ambitious clock radio. He just can't make coffee. Wake up to the radio. Wake up with buzzer. Wake up with a CD. Wake up gently. Wake up abruptly. let you sleep let you sleep listen to AM. listen to FM. Listen to TV (for now - TV signals will stop when TV goes fully digital). Listen to the weather. With digital tuning and improved bass. And much more. The price you pay for all of these options is that the buttons are plentiful and tiny. Well, I can't understand how Sony could avoidโ€ฆ

ICF-CD863 V does what it says on the tin

I bought this unit because it gradually decreases the volume in sleep timer mode and gradually increases the volume in wake/alarm mode. In each mode, you can use the device to determine how long you listen to CD or radio. The device allows you to use multiple alarms, so you can wake up to a CD and then switch to radio mode with the second alarm setting. I wake up to a CD playing a relaxing CD and 10 minutes later the second alarm clock switches to the radio to hear the morning news. I love this

Good but not perfect

I've been looking for a clock radio with CD player for a long time and finally decided on this model. It benefited from the widest range of functions (in particular the ability to program a CD track). On the other hand, it's not perfect: 1. I like the green on the black display better than the black on the amber background of this model, which is sometimes difficult to see without glasses2. There is no second alarm setting for the weekend. The description is very unclear about this.3. The softโ€ฆ

Awkward, 10 clicks to set and turn on the alarm!

When we were trying to replace our old dream car we bought it thinking a CD player and fancy features would come in handy. We were disappointed that it is difficult to use and has too many features. 1) It takes 10 clicks to set the alarm time (excluding the +/- time) and tune the radio by pressing the buttons on the front (so you have to hold the back to keep it from sliding on the table) 2 ) the CD player did not play CDR as advertised. 3) Too many buttons, button layout seems random. Good sound and reception plus cumbersome controls

Was looking for a good value, good sounding CD clock radio to replace my old Sony cassette clock radio which had better fidelity. Overall this device is disappointing, especially for the price and the Sony name. Despite two front speakers and a rear "subwoofer", the sound is tinny and weak. My old cassette player with just a 4" speaker sounds a lot better. Reception is also poor. Only the closest, strongest stations pick up clearly. The rest is full of noise and you have to change theโ€ฆ

Home run for Sony!

I bought a used Sony radio/CD player and am very happy with it. The sound quality is way better than I could ever hope for. I live out of town and the radio reception is impressive. It attracts stations I could never get before! The possibilities of this radio are endless. I wanted something to put on my nightstand and listen to a relaxing CD before bed. The sound quality of this unit makes the CD sound even better. The device fits perfectly on my bedside table without taking up much space. Iโ€ฆ

Some good, some bad

Pros: Good sound, preset digital radio setup, good Revain price, CD playback, headphone function Cons: very difficult to use, Can't see the display at an angle does not replace a good alarm clock. I actually bought it to replace the clock radio I had for years. The old one had bad sound and analogue tuning. It has good sound and digital tuning. It also plays CDs and works with headphones. But there are some serious problems. I have a device on my dresser and at this angle from my bed you can'tโ€ฆ
