Work! But difficult to use, breaks after a while

This is the only door lock solution that we think actually works. first. Difficult for parents = impossible for children! After 1 year of daily use it started to break, after another year it was time to replace it :( But we replace it because it works again :)

Pros
  • Good product for the price

works great following directions or non-cognitive.

Took about 5 minutes to install, works great if you follow the instructions or have no intellectual problems. Two things: 1. You may have to fiddle with tightening the 3 lid screws to get the plastic latch to rotate freely.2. The dimensions of the product match the lock, but you also need to have at least 3/4 inch around the door to fit the white plastic frame. One of my doors has windows with a molding where the frame cannot be removed.

I like it, but it takes some getting used to!

It helps protect my daughter! I bought two because I have doors leading outside. It took me a long time to align the metal and plastic parts properly so the lock would work back and forth without snagging on the jig. Once it was on, it worked great! It takes a little getting used to and on one of my doors it gets stuck and I have to play with it for a while, but on the other it works great! I believe it just depends on how far your lock is from the door frame.

  • Absolutely amazing!

Better than alternatives

They were easy to install. They can be a little painful to lock and unlock. The bolt on our front door turns very easily, you can hardly press it with your finger. So it's still pretty easy to block with this one. But hard enough, my 3 year old didn't figure it out. Our tailgate screw is usually a little harder to turn and is an absolute pain to install. When you lock a door, turn it counterclockwise. It is then important to turn it slightly clockwise until the knobs pop out again. Otherwise…

For a 3 star community, this review is for you.

I first bought one of these fuses when my 1st daughter was old enough to unbolt the latch and embark on a dangerous solo quest seen from the house. Then it was great. When we never used the front door as we had a garage. So 3 stars. Fast forward to baby #2 and more trouble. We moved out of our house and rented it out for renovation. There is no garage. Two doors to the outside with latches. This time I bought two packs. But with constant use, both broke after a few months. Therefore, they are…

Pros
  • There is something to it
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, it's ok

Could be a lifesaver for Guards & Locks

Hard to admit, but you just can't keep an eye on your kids 24/7. I left my 2 year old son in front of the TV so I could do the dishes. Literally a minute later I heard beeping from outside. I ran outside to find my boy outside and our dogs roaming the area. Now we are all alive and well and with this bar I am sure that will not happen again. Our 5 year old daughter saw us open it and tried a few times but her hands aren't strong enough or coordinated to open it. Installation is easy given the…

Very short lifespan

When new it works as intended. The clear acrylic outer shell will chip and then break as the locking tab retaining springs rub and push against it from the inside. This is a technical error but it can be fixed by adding a thin pad of super glued plastic (e.g. soda pop plastic) in between the metal with a spring and an acrylic shell inside (to prevent the spring destroys the acrylic within 3 months of use) before the plastic breaks with normal use. This has happened to all six devices I've…
