Why better price but same value

I bought this to polish my concrete countertops. I’ve used the Mikita shroud built for my angle grinder, unfortunately it broke when it was dropped. Needing a replacement ASAP, I purchased this one. It fit perfectly using one of the spacer rings. It never came loose, the gate to get to the zero clearance, worked even better than the one on my Mikita shroud. If there’s a downside to this product I haven’t found it yet. Money well spent. A few reviews said it wouldn’t fit their grinder, perhaps…

Pros
  • A few pics on assembly. Some written information would be nice.
Cons
  • Broke in my hands and caused injury. Want a refund.

It won't fit a new Ryobi grinder

I bought it to suck up the dust and debris from grinding a concrete slab that had ceramic tile mastic all over it. It does look like it would work. The design is good but there is no "collar" large enough to go around the Ryobi head collar. I never got to use it before we finished to floor. The other problem is that it has no adapter to fit a 2-1/2" shop vac hose, only the 1-7/8" hoses and no adaptor. Not sure if I'll send it back of keep playing with it to see if I missed something.

Pros
  • IT was ok but not so much for concreat walls
Cons
  • May not work with certain types of grinders, limiting versatility

Makita 9005B Fitment

This review is about the fitment rather than the function of the Raizi product, because it seems to work for some grinder brands/models. I have a Makita 9005B grinder and also the Makita brand dust shroud for this grinder. So, I got a chance to compare both shrouds. As you would expect, the Makita shroud has a vise grip, glove-like fit (see pics; 1st pic is the Raizi). When fitting up the Raizi, my engineering spidey senses were tingling. It had a wobbly fit and it was not aligning well with…

Pros
  • Price is right and easy to adjust the height.
Cons
  • Diamond grinding wheel may wear out quickly with frequent use

Great tool!: my feedback

Works perfectly! We are grinding up a concrete floor from left over tile and this handy tool has greatly eased the burden. My husband loves it and it may be his new favorite tool!

Pros
  • Works as it should. Very reasonably priced.
Cons
  • Shroud may not fit tightly enough, allowing dust to escape

A product that works

After a couple of failed attempts to find a unit to fit my Metabo grinder, I found this one. The problem was the Metabo has a small diameter mounting collar and this dust shroud has spacers included that fit my grinder. Even though the shroud is plastic, it is well made. The front section that slides out of the way for up close grinding even has detents that positively click keeping it securely out of the way.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • May not be durable enough for heavy-duty grinding applications

Won't Fit Dewalt good for me

Although I'm sure this product works fine with the correct application, it definitely does not fit my Dewalt grinder. I'm normally pretty good at modifying things to work, but there was no modifying this. By the time I was finished destroying it to try and make it work, there was no returning it either. This does not reflect the quality of the product, since I was unable to use it.Do yourself a favor and spend the extra on the Dewalt shroud, if you have that brand grinder. I did, and I'm very…

Pros
  • ‎Plastic
Cons
  • Diamond grinding wheel may be too aggressive for some surfaces, leading to damage or uneven results

Good for the money: my feedback

First thing I noticed is that the latch that tightens the guard hits my Dewalt 15 amp 7in housing. So just used nut/bolt. Second there are gaps in the spacer to grinder mounting. I used some gorilla tape from inside and it helped reduce the dust. I hooked this dust shroud to a cyclone mounted on a five gallon bucked, powered by pro shop vac. Didn’t eliminate the dust out put from the grinding of thin set, but reduced it by 90%. Update. The front of the shroud opens easily, I had to duct tape it

Pros
  • ‎No
Cons
  • The shroud may add additional weight to the grinder, making it more difficult to maneuver
