Great laptop that lasts a long time.

My daughter got this for college and she loves it. It's absolutely beautiful, I mean the felt material around the keyboard and this keyboard is amazing! The blue color is great. The screen is clear and beautiful, but small. I can't comment on the battery life as I'm not a user but I asked her and she loves it. We are lucky enough to be able to share our adobe suite and office software with her (thank goodness), she does graphic design and adobe is expensive software, luckily my husband is in…

Hard Pass Traditional Laptops

Received and returned my Surface 2 15/8GB RAM/265GB. First, the fit and finish is tight. There are no complaints. The lack of USB-C was embarrassing, but I decided to give it a try anyway. The display was gorgeous, another non-complaint. The main reasons for booting up were: 1. Battery life. SL2 struggled to give me 7 hours no matter how I set it up. Less than what people reported and a lot less than what Microsoft advertised.2. Slow. With built-in chip and RAM, everything should be faster.3…

Just get one and you will be in love.

I've had my Surface for about 2 weeks now and love it. Bought for work, school and some light IE Roblox games (more for kids). The kids love it too. From an IT perspective, if you want one for one or two users, buy a docking station, it's not that bad for the price and you want it to be able to join a domain. The negative plan is to spend a little more money on a Windows 10 Pro product key so you can join it to a domain. I tried using our volume license key which Microsoft says should work, it…

Probably the best laptop I've ever owned. For the past 7 years I've been developing on a MacBook Pro. I've been struggling with the butterfly keyboard on my new MacBook Pro for 4 years and all the recent OSX issues. I've bought several mechanical keyboards to troubleshoot and have never been satisfied. The Surface Book 2 is simply outstanding. The keyboard is perfect. When working in Vi, the ESC key is just the right size. I like the ThinkPad x201, x240, and x270 machines, but the placement of…

Huge upgrade for any laptop over 4 years old

The Surface Laptop 2 is one of the best laptops I've seen on the market. It's a high-end laptop in terms of specs, similar to the MacBook Pro lines, but otherwise the Surface seemed like a better buy for a number of reasons. PROS: Nice touchscreen display: This stands out compared to the MacBook Pro. The display between Mac and Surface is very similar, but the touch capabilities make it easier than just being limited to the Touch Bar. I have to say that my hand tends to stay on the touchpad…
