Short lifespan: my feedback

I was impressed in the beginning when observed how they worked in tact, without any extra pressure, but suddenly, one of it stopped to lock, pushing back immediately, taking a lot of effort to hold the door in proper position. Hope you’ll find my feedback informative

Pros
  • Easy to install, works great.
Cons
  • The latch can be difficult to install, especially for those with limited DIY skills

Nice and Heavy Duty

At first, I was planning on returning this, but Walmart insisted on refunding me and allowing me to keep the item. I did donate it to a friend who said they would use it and they have installed it (very easy to install) and it works as it is intended to be used. They have had no issues with it. It was installed on a closet door without a handle for easy opening by just pushing it and closing it by doing the same.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • If you accidentally push too hard on the latch, it can pop open even when you don't want it to

Complete junk - my new review

I ordered six of them. One of them flew apart the first time I tried to latch it. One of them would not latch at all. The springs are kinda strong, but the magnets are very weak. If you had small cabinet door they might work ok. They do not work on my large cabinet doors to hold them shut.

Pros
  • Long Stroke With Magnetic: Long stroke with built-in 1.18x0.4x0.15 inch magnet, more powerful magnetic force ensure a secure close point that make the door more tightly united and no more 'drifting open' doors. Make this push latch more suitable for medium size doors.
Cons
  • The latch may not be suitable for outdoor or semi-outdoor living spaces, as it may be affected by weather conditions

Can only be mounted one way!

I ordered these hoping to mount them to a right wall. Unfortunately these are made to only work on a left wall. If you mount them the other way, the gravity latch doesnt work. The plunger will go in but not latch properly and pop back out.I consider myself a handy person and thought maybe it could be modified to work, but after taking one apart I determined that it is not possible due to how it is manufactured. One could, in theory, mount it "upside down" and it may work but its impractical for

Strong hold. good for me

Worked perfectly for what I had in mind. Door knobless master bath. Solid door almost hidden locks from inside push to open from outside. Working great.

Pros
  • Cabinet Hardware
Cons
  • The latch may not be suitable for cabinets or drawers that need to be opened with only one hand

Does not work good for me

Does not release - broken straight out of the box. Clearly untested and no quality control. Made of inexpensive plastic.

Pros
  • Hardware
Cons
  • The latch may not be suitable for users with limited vision, as it can be difficult to locate and engage the latch

Purchased 12. Two of the twelve do not always latch so they must first be pushed in by hand and then close the cabinet door. Slots for positioning latch need to be longer as nearly every latch needed a different offset distance to function properly. Screws are made of a very soft, low-quality steel. 2 screws snapped leaving the tip embedded in the cabinet door, another 8-9 stripped where phillip screwdriver inserts into screw head. Would buy a more expensive and higher quality spring latch if I

Pros
  • Catches
Cons
  • The latch may not be suitable for cabinets that need to be locked or secured for safety or privacy reasons

latch works as described but install is difficult

The latch works as described and magnate was strong enough to hold my door which, due to the slightly shorter hinge length, cannot close properly. However, I have 2 issues: 1. Installation was not as easy as described unless you have access to the latch from the back of the cabinet, but mine was a closed one. Adjusting the position of the latch to allow the 3mm compression to lock and not leaving a large gap is not easy. If the plate is thicker, say 3 mm, then the door can be closed exactly and

Pros
  • ‎Round
Cons
  • The latch may not work properly if your cabinets are not properly aligned or installed

Does not work for right hand doors.

Does not work for right hand doors. Gravity works against locking mechanism and it fails to latch. For left hand doors it is ok but who knows for how long.

Pros
  • Push to Open: Built-in spring-loaded plunger, you can just simply press the door to latch or unlatch. Eliminates the need for handles or knobs. Create the clean, seamless look of no knobs. Suitable for using with hinges without self-closing feature.
Cons
  • The latch may not be suitable for cabinets or drawers with metal or metallic finishes, as the magnet may not work as effectively

I used 2 of these to secure the plumbing access panel at the front of our master bath jacuzzi. It took me awhile to figure out why the latching mechanism wouldn't catch when I mounted it on the left side of a 2x4" board that is part of the front frame surrounding the jacuzzi but works when mounted to the rigth side. It worked fine when not mounted but not when mounted. I took one apart to see how it operates. There is a plastic round piece that rotates in a hole in one side of the housing. The…

Pros
  • Great magnet strength, very long travel. Used to pull in hanging desk door.
Cons
  • The metal parts can rust over time, causing unsightly stains and potentially affecting the function of the latch

Needs more push power.

I used these on pull out drawers with Heavy duty (500#) capacity slides. They don’t have enough aping to push the drawer open.

Pros
  • Shipped quick and is as described
Cons
  • The latch may not be strong enough to withstand heavy use or constant pulling and pushing

Well built, long piston

These latches require about 3/16" to arm (i.e. you have to be able to close the door about 3/16" past the normally-closed position). But they push the door open over 3/4". I got these for a cabinet that includes a vertical barrister-type door, and that amount of opening was a requirement. The inexpensive and cheaply-made latches available at the box stores don't cut it. As an unexpected bonus, the package includes two types of steel pads (the part that attaches to the door) with different hole…

Pros
  • Purchase this for my husband and he love it a lot
Cons
  • The installation process may require drilling into your cabinets, which could be damaging or difficult to repair

It works but. on my review.

No instructions. The adhesive helps but wouldn't stick to my cabinet very well. When installing drill the adjustable holes before the stationary holes in the front. Install with the adjustable holes only, test the distance to make sure it's working properly. Then drill the front holes to hold it in place permanently. Also do not use the all metal catch, it doesn't work as well as the plastic and metal ones.

Pros
  • Powerful Piston/Spring: Larger and thicker heavy-duty spring mechanism has a strong enough tension make this push opener an exceptionally durable and timeless choice. Ensure lifetime up to 20000 times.
Cons
  • The latch may not be strong enough to keep cabinets closed during earthquakes or other natural disasters

Poor quality push latches

As a designer, I shipped these touch latches to a jobsite. There was a delay from order date to installation to use date, which exceeded the return policy. These latches are installed in a business office mini kitchen, hence, getting very light use. These touch latches are not functioning well for the client. The latches will be trashed and a higher quality product will be shipped.

Pros
  • Doesn’t always open on the first push
Cons
  • The magnet is not that strong

Good latch for larger cabinet doors

I purchased this to use on a cabinet I built in my Motor Home. The RV is on a truck chassis and rides roughly on our pothole freeway. This latch keeps the doors closed when on the road.

Pros
  • Used for bathroom medicine cabinet. Magnet holds strong. Would recommend.
Cons
  • The latch may not be suitable for areas with high levels of humidity, as moisture can affect its function

Junk - Avoid for my opinion

Latches will not stay in closed position, only spring open. Do yourselves a favor, avoid the frustration and look for something else.

Pros
  • ‎6 Pack
Cons
  • The latch may not be suitable for cabinets or drawers with heavy or large items inside
