Very accurate/excellent heater!

This heater is amazing. Sleek black design to match tank back. Very accurately and quickly heated the water in my 150 gallon tank. Digital display on the outside of the tank with a knob to set the desired temperature. You can easily read the digital temperature display on the heater itself. I recommend this heater to anyone looking for a great product at a great price.

This really needs a zero rating. Avoid at all costs.

Don't use this crap unless you want to kill your fish rating. Serious. I got home and found the tank looked bad. The coral is all closed. No fish swam. The screen was blank. It worked. Walked to the fullest. After a reset it worked again, but you can see that it cannot be trusted. AVOID. Don't get in the same trouble as me. I never wanted my fish and coral to go through this.

Finally an aquarium heater that lasts

In my hobby of more than 40 years I have used all kinds of aquarium heaters. And every immersion heater I've had has failed primarily for one reason: a leaky seal where the temperature is controlled. This Hygger product eliminates the weakest point and makes temperature control a simple and dry process. The external temperature control is great and the digital display will keep you guessing. The simple and concise design of the heater is a great addition to any aquarium.

Used less than a month

I'm not sure what happened to my heater. I've used it in my 180g tank in addition to a 300w Eheim heater for less than a month. When I was doing a water change today, I noticed that rust had formed on the Hygger heater. Contact with manufacturer not found. The heater still works, but I don't feel comfortable keeping it in the tank like that. Once I removed the heater and inspected it more closely, it turned out to be metal rust like flakes that I was able to scrape off the heater. I want a…

Excellent heater, best among fish and aquatic animals

I bought this heater for my 125 gallon African cichlid aquarium, heats the water up fairly quickly, not really sure how accurate the readings are, but my fish seem like he likes it! I set the temp to 82 when I do a water change, the tap water is about 72-73, it takes about an hour to get to the set temp. Despite all this I am sending back the one I have now because the screen on the heater that is in the tank no longer comes on, read from the outside it still works, the seller was quick to send

Last but not least, the seller replaced, great customer service!

UPDATE: The seller contacted us and sent a replacement. They responded very quickly after I figured out how to message them. Excellent customer service. I changed to 3 stars, let's see if the next one is better. If it lasts 1 year I will change it to 5 stars as it was the best heater we have ever used while at work. This heater worked great for a few months, now he thinks he's out of water. We can't find a way to reset it. It was about 6-8 inches below the surface and worked better than any…

For use in 220 gallon aquariums

Very happy with price and delivery. Temp gauge on heating element, no. I looked at the 800w model on the Hagger website, the temp doesn't show on their website either. It's OK, the temperature is displayed on the device control panel. The back of my tank is black so I'm glad it doesn't show up. My previous heater configuration included three different heaters. One in the tank, one in the sump and one in the fluidized bed K3. I only use one, this one. I kept one in the swamp as a backup. It was…

Ideal for outdoor above ground ponds!

I am absolutely satisfied with this heater. We created a 150 gallon above ground outdoor oasis for our red-eared sliders, so we removed them from the 55 gallon indoor tank. I've read reviews of this heater and people didn't recommend it for outdoor use because it's meant for indoor use, not because they've tried it. Well I'm here to tell you that there is no problem with the outdoor heater and it works great as long as the main electrical box is fully waterproof (closed) and the electrical…

Beware of overheating

Installed in my aquarium 24 days ago and today the controller was a blank screen and the heater in the aquarium has increased the temperature to over 82 when it was set to 76. I turned the heater off and then plugged it back in for about 30 seconds and the controller was visible again with the setting now at 74 and the water temp is now dropping. Luckily I caught him fast enough not to lose a fish, but I'm not sure I can trust him to keep my tank at the right temperature. The only reason I…
