Description of ๐Ÿž Beetle: The Compact Microcontroller for Arduino

Beetle is a extremely the smallest Arduino leonardo board. It derives its core notion from minimalism without compromising functionality. It comes with Atmel AtMega32u4 ( datasheet) @16MHz clock time and has expanded amounts of interfaces: 10 digital pins, 5 analog pins and 4 pwn pins. To further make it user-friendly, it is compatible with Micro USB so that direct programming and testing is no longer a headache. Select "Arduino Leonardo (tools >board > Arduino Leonardo in Arduino IDE), the ATmega32U4 comes preburned with a bootloader that allows you to upload any new code that is applicable to Arduino Leonardo. As the smallest Arduino Leonardo, it enjoys similar powerful functionalities. Beetle aims to solve problems of low-cost controller, ease-of-using properly, and to provide a low cost solution for disposable projects, such as DIY projects, workshops, gift projects, E-Textiles and educational.

Simple little replacement for Stock Arduino

Tried this last night - was able to hook it up, install Arduino IDE on Leonardo and it just worked. This thing also loads very quickly - programs appear to run on instant power-up. It's still early days, but I'm very happy so far.

Pros
  • Durable Finish
Cons
  • Damaged

2 pcs not working upon arrival

USB not working. Same symptoms as others. COM port is not recognized on several adware computers. Get a board with a dedicated USB chip. I think you have to go through several returns before you get one that works. Looks like some of the reviews are good so that's ok.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Upgradeable

The pins are double spaced

This works for my purpose but more than I expected. I should have looked more closely at the specs. I'm not sure why they doubled the spacing between the pins. That blew my mind. 7 pins on the edge instead of 4 could eliminate the need for pads on the bottom of the board and allow for a more convenient layout.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons

Crap Computers & Accessories

I'm getting this troubleshooting error where my IDE doesn't recognize the device and the port won't activate. The supposed "solution" is to find the right reset pins (which are NOT properly documented. EVER) and then you have to do a magic dance to load the code from the IDE, and then the reset pins shorting for just the right amount of time. Of course, the "right timeโ€ is not documented either. The troubleshooting instructions encourage you to just keep trying until you accidentally hit theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Minor

Very difficult to use! on computers and accessories

Boards like "Arduino Leonardo" have to be reset at some point in order to load the program. This device has a very small area to connect to the reset, making it difficult to use, especially after installation.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Pros
  • Beetle is the smallest Arduino Leonardo board. Its basic idea is based on minimalism without sacrificing functionality.
Cons
  • So far so good
