Description of Arches Water Colour 640GSM Pressed

The cold press finish has a light texture and is the most common. It reflects light well, retaining the transparent quality of watercolours. A light grain makes it easier to achieve certain details. All Arches papers are cylinder mould made as they have been for over a century. With long fibers, this thick, stable sheet is beautiful, durable, and resillient. Each sheet of Arches Watercolour is tub-sized in a bath of pure natural gelatin and then air dried to add additional strength and durability. The best quality control. Ourt paper undergoes sophisticated testing and monitoring, with every sheet individually inspected to assure the finest quality. Contains one block with 10 sheets, 640 GSM

Fantastic product! on watercolor paper

When you learn to paint with watercolors, don't skimp on supplies! I was willing to give up watercolor painting until I got good quality paints, brushes and paper. I LOVE watercolor and can't get enough! Arches is expensive, but it's a quality product that works TOGETHER, not AGAINST YOU. I use my cheaper experimental paper and then do the finished work on the sheets.

Pros
  • Best quality control. Our papers are rigorously tested and controlled, with each sheet individually inspected to ensure the highest quality.
Cons
  • Safety

Yes, it's good for painting, coloring, and art supplies

I print and work with paper all the time. I'm new to painting but I know the quality. That's it. the best paper money you can buy. I've spent a lot of money on other papers (including ARCHES) and nothing compares to this one. it is very dentate, ie slightly structured, but highly absorbent. quick drying, which can be a downside, but it's so easy to activate that it's not a problem. 95% without buckles! It's a dream to have on the block, I'll never stick a piece of paper to a Masonite again if I

Pros
  • Each tube-sized sheet of Arches Watercolor is placed in a tub of pure natural gelatin and then air dried for added strength and durability
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good paper weight and responds well to watercolor

First attempt at 300lb watercolor paper - love how this paper reacts to paint and water. It's a good weight and color. Although removing the paper from the block is a little tricky each time, I chose to remove it before painting to avoid tearing the finished product (just in case). I will buy this paper again.

Pros
  • Includes a pad of 10 sheets, 640gsm
Cons
  • Expensive
