Works, but a bit difficult to use

I only use these for light electronics so far, such as splicing in a case fan to a power supply molex for a computer case. There isn't a lot of expectation of movement or tension on the joint, all I am really doing it for is to keep the connection and prevent any shorts from occurring accidentally. That said, even with my relatively inept skill at this, it does seem to do that job sufficiently. I was a little worried about the reports of people blasting through the plastic and splattering solder

Pros
  • I have not used but a few but they appear to work well
Cons
  • Not ideal for high voltage applications.

Great Concept That Works!

I wish I had thought of this! In the past I've used the normal soldering iron and heat shrink wire sleeves to make household and automotive wire repairs and additions. This "all-in-one" method is so much easier and faster. It does take a little patience to get the built-in solder to melt with a heat gun, but once it does, it flows over the wires easily. I was worried about melting the wires, but after the first couple tries, no wires were melted and I was a pro! The connection is tight and…

Pros
  • Yo hice nueva conexión eléctrica en mi bote y me quedó perfecto
Cons
  • May not create a strong enough connection for some applications.

Actually REALLY good!

SUPER easy to use! I don't know what's up with the negative reviews. Maybe they don't know what they're doing, but as long as you keep the heat moving, it's pretty hard to screw up. I got these to work with a bbq grill lighter, so you should be able to do this even easier with a small propane lighter or a B1C or anything with a controllable flame. Just let the flame lick the surface while moving back and fourth and the solder will change from shiny silver to dull gray and the heat-shrink will…

Pros
  • Easy to use. Great product
Cons
  • Some users had trouble getting the shrink wrap to stay in place during installation.

Can't work with out it

It's best to have especially on the boat wend your out thare and suddenly ur lights gose out and you need to fixt it right cuz all the boat vibration on water n damping up n down it will discover again and you be getting home with a marine patrol citation for light out of service, it save me a headache and a permanent fix .

Pros
  • ♥ WIDE APPLICATIONS: Excellent stability, water resistance and electrical conductivity provide durable connection for motorcycle, off-road vehicles, lawn tractors, RVs, fish finder and marine application. Widely used on multiple projects of your Christmas lights, ships with high waterproof requirements motorcycle stereo, boat electronics, equipment switches.
Cons
  • Some users reported that the connectors were too fragile.

Good idea BUT…., in my review

Good idea but poorly executed design. You almost have to catch the plastic on fire to get the solder to melt correctly That's my feedback!

Pros
  • Wiring & Connecting
Cons
  • The connectors may be too small for some applications.

Easy to use, excellent connection

I hate soldering! Never learn to do it well. These connectors allow for an excellent soldered connection and all you need is a heat gun. I am incredibly pleased and looking forward to doing many repairs using the connectors.

Pros
  • I use these for all my auto wiring n
Cons
  • May not work well in humid environments.

Works very well.time and effort saver!

Sopoby wire connector and seal. I had some qualms initially about this method in general, but after some testing I am definitely a convert! This selection covers many different wire sizes. The ability to solder and protect at the same time is fabulous.I did a bit of testing.attaching 2 photos here. On the larger wire size, I cut the cover plastic back to reveal the solder flow. The process was done with a mini-torch. The plastic is MUCH tougher than typical heat-shrink tubing, and with a bit of

Pros
  • Testing them out.
Cons
  • Some users reported that the connectors melted during installation.

OK, This is COOL! in my review

A must have! I do a lot of troubleshooting on my own equipment. Most recently, my utility trailer's lights stopped working. I examined the wiring harness and all of the connections appeared to be good but I still had no lights! On a whim, I cut all of the wires where the current connection was connected by a wirenut and wrapped in electrical tape. I used my new connectors to reconnect the wires and everything started working again! The connect is VERY solid and also waterproof! The only thing…

Pros
  • The connectors are backed by a manufacturer's warranty, giving you peace of mind knowing that your investment is protected
Cons
  • The connectors may be too bulky for some applications.

Very good connectors

These are super easy connectors to use for small electrical projects. I've been using them to do wiring on a small aluminum boat, and they seal down very easily with a heat gun. I'm sure you could use a lighter as well, but I have the heat gun, and less chance of burning them with it. The solder melts inside and makes for a very solid, waterproof connection.

Pros
  • The solder inside the connectors provides a strong, secure connection that won't come loose over time
Cons
  • The connectors can be challenging to remove if a mistake is made during installation.

Good for marine environments

I've used these a number of times on trailers now. The number is not because of the product, but because I have a habit of backing into ponds without an actual ramp and destroying lights. I have also used these on bait tanks and bilge pumps. Thus far I have not had any failures that can be attributed to this product. I use a mini heat gun and each union does take a few minutes of back and forth with a mini heat gun. I also take an extra few minutes usually now to put a layer of shrink wrap over

Pros
  • The connectors are easy to use, making them perfect for DIY projects and professional installations alike
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in extreme weather conditions.

Know the size of shrink tube your using for it to work.

It came well organized, easy to use it even has instructions inside the box for those learning to DIY. Do not pull while is hot, it will come right off. Saying that cause another review mention "it came right off after soldering”. Use common sense and let it cool off before trying to check it. Work the lighter around don’t keep it in one spot it will burn. So practice before you do the actual repair. This thing works. I gave it a 4 stars cause the case locking clip came broken. Not sure how…

Pros
  • Terminals
Cons
  • The connectors may not fit in all wire splices.

Don’t think I’ll be soldering wires again!

This is SO much easier to use, than having to solder wires together.Used this to hardwire in a tail light on a dirt bike with little room under the seat.Made life so easy!Definitely have a decent heat gun or heat pen that gets decently hot, but be careful not to over heat as the plastic becomes a little too maleable when it is over heated. You can see when the solder melts and fuses the wires together who’s is very nice. I still heat shrank and wrapped my wires for added protection from the…

Pros
  • The connectors are UL and RoHS compliant, ensuring they meet all safety and environmental regulations
Cons
  • Some users reported that the connectors were difficult to insert into the shrink wrap.

Why aren’t you using these yet?

Buy them. Buy the biggest box of them you can get. You won’t be disappointed. I use these modifying Power Wheels, electric scooters, etc. Easy to use. Makes a strong, water tight connection. Highly recommend.

Pros
  • The Sopoby Heat Shrink Solder Connectors provide a waterproof seal that protects against environmental factors such as moisture, humidity, and saltwater
Cons
  • Some users reported that the connectors failed after a short period.

These are great for my opinion

Ignore the other reviews saying these burn up, or don't work. They are either doing something wrong (like using a torch), or following the instructions. The instructions suggest turning the heat gun up to 700°F. That's too much. I set my heat source to 375°-400°F and had a 100% success rate with the few dozen connectors I used. Some suggestions for use:1. If applying several in a tight area, apply one at a time. These tend to stick together while hot.2. It's possible for a stand of copper to…

Pros
  • The connectors have a low profile design that allows them to fit easily into tight spaces and hard to reach areas
Cons
  • May require additional tools or equipment for proper installation.

Not sure I would buy again

I only used this product once and used the largest connector in the package. The solder just didn’t want to meltcfor some reason like I have seen in videos. On one of them the solder didn’t melt at all but the rubber part melted all the way thru so I had to use another one. Not sure I would buy this product again. You also will need a heat gun to melt the solder. I’m not sure but I don’t think a hair blow dryer will get hot enough

Pros
  • The connectors have a low insertion force, making them easy to install without damaging delicate wires
Cons
  • The connectors may not be suitable for use with certain types of connectors or terminals.

A big disappointment

This product did not live up to the hype. I read countless reviews and went so far as watching videos of reviews on YouTube, and the general consensus was nearly unanimous that these are the best solder connectors.I used the blue connectors to reattach three 16GA wires. Out of three connectors used, only one band of solder melted. The other two bands reduced in size but never melted to coat the wires in solder. Heat was not the problem because I nearly burned the insulation and the shrink wrap…

Pros
  • ♥ BETTER WATERPROOF SOLUTIONS: Double wall design, Hot Melt Adhesive inside ensures wires strongly connected and prevent wires slipping from the terminal; Polyolefin outside tubing provides insulation and improves pullout strength.
Cons
  • The connectors can take more time to install than traditional soldering methods.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to use. best in my review

For DC connections, easy to use. Perhaps would pause if using in high amperage/high voltage, but use them for landscape light wiring, 3d printer heater cartidge, misc connections <5amp <30VDC. Beats soldering and heatshinking with an iron.

Pros
  • The connectors come in a convenient storage case that keeps them organized and easy to find
Cons
  • The connectors may not be able to withstand high levels of vibration.
