Review on Dell AC511M Stereo SoundBar by Steven Cox

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works good, sounds good

I looked at some reviews on this and other products before purchasing. I got a headache because there was a lot of love and hate. So let me add. - Product arrived well packaged and undamaged - Unpacking went without incident - Installation was very easy (installation, connection, use) - Plug and play. The computer recognized and loaded the drivers (used computer for USB power) - the sound is clear and loud enough. I listened to music, spoken words and video conferences. For all three it delivered a surprisingly good frequency response with very good clarity. I accidentally turned the music volume all the way up, and it's held up remarkably well. It didn't fall apart but began to warp (which isn't surprising). The microphone worked well (single use). The conference participants said that my voice was clear, loud enough, understandable and not affected by the noise of the speakers. - The stand mount is very strong although I was concerned it would break before installing it on the stock Dell U2520D stand. The bracket barely fit, but is not broken. All in all, I recommend this speaker/mic system for computer use. It's not an expensive speaker system and probably won't please music lovers, but for what it is it works pretty well. Just be prepared to find a mount if the one they provide doesn't work.
