QCAD is a free CAD program for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
A fantastic tool to help people learn how to use and understand software, making 3d models is also great! I am so happy that I found QCAD, it's exactly what I was looking for, simple, straightforward and intuitive, it allows anyone to learn and use it without any prior experience. I used to use AutoCAD LT but it was way too complicated, I had no idea what I was doing. With QCAD I learned quickly and now I have my own business designing mobile phone cases and 3d printed t-shirts. I love the freedom and simplicity of QCAD, its beautiful interface and powerful capabilities.
Pros
- Simple yet very useful tool, perfect for everyone who needs to make a drawing, from beginner to advanced.
- The ability to learn and work with this app as a complete newbie, and after gaining a basic understanding you will be able to master any type of project.
Cons
- The "Windows" platform does not offer an iPad/iPhone compatible version.
- No support for the Mac platform
- Can only export to.dwg format, cannot import from another program.
