Review on πŸ’§ 3 oz Water-Detecting Kolor Kut Paste by Ryan Williams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as expected, suitable for oils and liquids

Color Cut is a big name in the oil industry. A gun tank is a tank into which oil and water are drained from an oil well. Water sinks to the bottom and oil floats to the top. Kolor Kut is used to determine the water level in the tank. Application: Apply paste to the gauge line (e.g. Lufkin CN1290FS590 oil level tape) in the area where you expect the water level to be detected, lower the plumb line. (e.g. Lufkin S590 Plumb Bob) to the gauge at the bottom of the tank and leave the gauge in place for 10-30 seconds. This gives the water time to change the color of the Color Koot Paste from orange to red. Now wind up the measuring line and note the water level. If you pull out and the paste is completely orange, the water level is even lower. Wipe off the old paste and apply it to the bottom of the measuring line. If you pull it out and the paste is all red or dissolving, the water level is higher. Wipe off the old paste and apply it to the higher position on the measuring line. When there is a lot of oil deposits in the water, we have found the gas oil to surface better. I just can't get 5 stars and say "I love this".
