Video quality lacking

For an IMX415 8MP resolution front camera, the video quality seems low. I compared it to other cameras with similar resolution.Focus not great and uneven (fuzzier on left side than right). Small depth of field.Video seems overprocessed, especially regarding sharpness. Looks similar to a lower resolution sensor that was then scaled up and sharpness cranked too far, making it look a little stylized. Saturated to the white side. Definitely doesn't look like HDR. No difference in quality between H265 and H264.Have seen similar look with other drivecams tested last year.Similar to the customizable rear camera brightness that was added recently it would be good to add optional sharpness levels.Advertized as 4k @ 30fps, but resulting video is 25fps. Sony IMX415 can do 60fps.Maybe the bottleneck is the HiSilicon video processing chip.Rear camera is very physically solid, but mounting bracket simple and provides very limited mounting options. Quality similar to front camera. The quality of taking a snapshot is exactly the same as the video. This is normally not the case with cameras, since the videos are compressed more. Maybe the snaphot is technically just a screenshot of the video.UI is fairly solid. Better than other models tested.Barely fits on the Lexus GX460 rearview mirror. In fact about an 1" of the Lexus mirror is still sticking out on the right. Camera is in the way of moving the visor down. Have that too when moving the drivecam to the Honda Element. Just a problem for all drivecams that place the front camera next to the original mirror.Front camera angling is very limited and in order for it to point straight ahead I need to angle the mirror less towards the driver. The drivecam does not function well as a normal mirror when powered off => has to always be used on.Had trouble with the video player from Wolfbox. Can't find the right H265 codec on some computers (Windows 10). Videolan VLC player can play the videos, but then without the GPS feature. Also doesn't work when no internet connection, but doesn't tell you this.Customer service responds, but takes a day and odd times => located in Asia. Tech support is useless. They have little knowledge and don't seem to care.Basically rearview mirror drive cams still have some way to go before becoming good products.Attached 2 photos of the same insulation sheet taken from 10ft away and cropped. 1st photo is the Wolfbox G900, 2nd picture from a 7MP camera.
