Review on πŸ’ͺ AMD FD6300WMHKBOX FX-6300 Black Edition: 6-Core Processor with Unparalleled Performance by Mateusz Drabarczyk ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

"Corn" means eight cores, yet even in the year 2022, that's plenty. Due to being stuck with an AM3 and 32 GB of DDR3, which, at today's RAM costs, would have to be changed anyhow if I wanted to move to Ryzen, I am compelled to make this purchase. But the speed is sufficient now so I can finish up my work. In the context of video games, the answer is yes; nowadays, near-perfect single-threaded speed is all that's needed. The GTX 1060 6GB is about equivalent to this CPU, but not greater than that because even it cannot always fully load it.

Pros
  • Quite reasonable, despite the claims of Intel's zealots. Great potential for overclocking with a motherboard that has a solid power delivery system and standard mosfets.
Cons
  • Temperatures remain high. There can be no short-cuts when it comes to properly planning and executing cooling.
