but this one has a great bang for your buck

I watched the machines for over a year before settling on this model. It got high marks for portability, a presser foot lifter (that works in both automatic and manual modes), more neck room, and box feed. It also comes with lots of accessories and feet in the box. Have been using it for a few months now, it was an early birthday present for me. I checked and could have bought much more expensive models but this one has a great return on investment. The delivery is very smooth, straight and even, very quiet at low speeds and not noisy at maximum speed. The bonus is that it uses standard legs (yes, even the cheap 32s you find on Amazon!) and class 15 coils, which are widely available. The automatic needle threader works best with organ needles, but it works great with Schmetz needles or other needles. The needle threader always works with organ needles, but with other brand needles I mostly have to thread by hand. As well as a wide range of presser feet, there is a wide range of stitches including a quick, straight selection, quarter-inch setting that works with the edge of a regular presser foot - great when you need a quick quarter-inch guide but the not wanting to change foot. It also comes with a quarter inch sewing foot, I get really accurate stitches with either method. Now when I'm patchwork my dots align a lot better with less offset and I don't have to pin as much - I like the way it's served. There are other features that help with precise stitching and stitching. While sewing, I can hold down the needle up/down button and it sews very slowly, which is very handy when going around corners or approaching an intersection. I use this machine a lot for bags and purses and the sewing precision combined with the strong punching force make it perfect for those thick layers - it's not as strong as an industrial machine but definitely stronger than many other home machines I've used. Before. I was willing to pay almost twice as much as this machine for some mid range Janome, Pfaff or Viking models but I am very happy with this purchase, I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade to a more modern machine with additional features. The product was also delivered very quickly and reliably by Sew Vac Direct.
