Review on Fat Brain Toys Whirly Squigz by Jeremy Stephens

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The dream of parents with autism!

My baby LOVES things that spin. They are his absolute favourites. His aunt gave him a set of Whirly Squigs and he actually won Christmas that year. I bought a second set because he loves them so much. I clip them to the inside of car windows, throw one or two in my backpack for meetings, and we often clip them to the patio door. (Sometimes after kids go to bed, the suction stops and they fall to the floor, startling the dog. But that's mostly due to imperfections in the surface. If my glass doors were *really* clean, they'd never let go. But alas , babies and spaghetti.) Although I broke one of the original sets. His OT suggested covering his favorite toy in therapeutic putty, so encourage him to stop avoiding certain textures. Unfortunately, the therapeutic putty WAS NOT REMOVED. (No fault of the Whirlwind Squigs. It's all mom!) So I don't recommend anything like that. I spent hours carving it and ended up tearing off the top after getting too vigorous with the cheese cutter. In short, we love them. Maybe we'll buy more.
