Review on Strong Hand Tools Capcaity Clamping by Eric Salem

Irreplaceable clamp

Irreplaceable clamp. Too bad I bought it a long time ago. Four now, two with a spring return. In addition, the magnetic welding torch holder Strong Hand and various welding tongs, which I use well. These J-Clamps are so useful I keep reaching for them. Anytime I need to cut, drill or weld something I now use a J-Clamp. I modified the clips by 1) removing the metal ring at the top that keeps it from falling apart. He kept hanging on the moving bar, which was very annoying. I replaced the ring with a small bolt to keep the movable arm from falling out. On the spring loaded one I did the same to the ring and removed the return spring as it was completely useless. Maybe it's useful for someone because I've found it gets in the way. There is a threaded hole at the end of J. I added a bolt that is adjustable in length to accommodate unevenness under the table. This clip is worth its weight in gold for that alone. I have many Strong Hand magnetic clips to attach to the J end for a special clip, which is another reason this clip is number one in my book. I expect to purchase more clamps of various gauges and sizes over time. Looking back, not buying Strong Hand clamps sooner was a huge mistake. Highly recommended.
