When you change the water filter you must run a significant amount of water through it, usually in gallons, to remove any carbon particles. You can see them in the water because they initially color the water clear and smoky black. I always do. The water will eventually clear as you approach the recommended amount of water to flow through a new filter. So imagine my confusion when the first gallon of water spilled. There was no smoke from the water. Not the second, not the third. Since our water is already quite clean, I will leave it as it is. I will be changing this filter again in about 6 months but I probably won't go with this brand. Too suspicious.
