Review on Premium Galvanized Metal Wall Control Pegboard: Organize & Optimize Your Space by Kim Norman

Easy to install perforated metal plates are stronger, hold pins/hooks well and work great with magnets

Hardboard. It works great but I saw a perforated sheet metal at a show and decided to give it a try. Of course, the dimensions and spacing of the holes are the same as a regular punch plate, so all the same serrated tool holders can work with it. One of the advantages of this metal wall panel is that it is stronger than a traditional perforated panel and the edges of the holes do not wear out over time. Another plus is the easy installation. Unlike traditional pegboards that require additional framing or hardware to remove from the wall, Wall Control's pegboard is designed to sit approximately 3/4 inch from the wall to allow for pegs and hooks create. My favorite difference from metal perforated metal, however, is the ability to use magnets with it. I have several odd shaped tools that don't fit in any of the available tool holder hooks. So for these unusual tools, I placed some powerful neodymium magnets *behind* the metal plate. That way I can easily place a tool in that area on the perforated plate and the magnetic attraction from the back will grab the tool (only works with metal tools of course). Another plus is that I can easily attach notes, design ideas, etc. to metal boards with magnets. Wall pegs work best with 1/4" pegs and hooks. They don't hold as tightly as they fit looser. These metal plates also have "slots" that mate with Wall Control's special slotted hooks. Of course, this only works if You mount them vertically (with up/down slots. I ordered two of these panels but installed them abutted horizontally over a tall workstation so the slots are useless to me. Installation was easy and hardware was included A couple of my ends didn't have wall bars, so I just used the included extra mollies in the wall to screw them in. The pegboard comes in a variety of bright colors, but I opted for a gloss black finish.
