Review on Cobian Women'S Zoe Wedge: Stylish And Comfortable Footwear For Any Occasion by James Bartels

Revainrating 3 out of 5

UPDATED - Not as happy as I was

I am ecstatic about these shoes! First, they are a true size 5 (which is rare) for medium to narrow feet. It's possible that if you have wide feet, these could be uncomfortable. The cushioning on the shoebed itself is great! Better than the Rocket Dogs I had before. The braided top strap is actually comfortable - there is a soft suede-like liner underneath that protects the top of your feet from the braiding. The soles are a tough plastic, so I expect they will last much longer than previous sandals I've had, which are usually very soft and become quickly embedded with gravel, glass, etc when I walk around. I haven't tried them out on slick/wet surfaces so I can't say if the soles will be effective - will wait and see. I loved these so much that I went and bought a black pair too - so glad to get rid of my old ones and start wearing these!***UPDATE*** I loved these so much the first time that I bought another pair, about a year later. The brown ones have held up but the black ones wore out first (maybe I wore them more frequently?). However, the new black pair have not help up at all! It's only been 2 months and these are coming apart. How, you might ask? Well, apparently the wedge/sole is made up of layers that are glued together, which I only know because each layer is separating out, and at a different pace. So the footbed (which touches my sole) is curling up (like a insoles, now), while the rest of the wedge is slowly but surely separating. It's like seeing the layers of Earth moving during a graphic simulation of an earthquake. The browns ones are also starting to separate, just not nearly as bad as the black ones AND I've had the brown ones for over a year. I'm really not sure what is happening here but I am definitely not happy about this!
