Review on VINRELLA Wine Bottle Umbrella: Portable, Waterproof & Windproof For Travel, UV Blocker - Fun Gift Idea! by Hayden Hart

Great concept, pathetic execution: product broke after two months and minimal usage, DO NOT BUY

If the title didn't make it clear enough, I was incredibly unsatisfied with this umbrella. On paper, the concept is great: when you live in an incredibly rainy place like Vancouver and you're a commuter and a student, it's great to have an umbrella that you can store in a bag as you please. The design is beautiful, and as I said, it should have been useful too. This winter has been abnormally dry for the West coast, I've maybe used the umbrella ten or twelve times since I bought it at the end of December. But taking the umbrella in and out of the wine bottle case took its toll quickly. After the first seven or so uses I stopped being able to open the umbrella without the top separating from the stem. I thought I could live with it, simply reattaching the canopy every time I needed to use it. I was horribly wrong.Today I pulled out my umbrella to use in the pouring rain and it wouldn't open at all. I could get it halfway to open before the telescoping stem jammed and the canopy wouldn't stay up on its own. I got soaked.TL; DR: This umbrella stinks. I thought you could rely on it like any other umbrella and I was horribly wrong. It's cheap and poorly made and a total rip off.

Pros
  • This was a gift and they loved it!
Cons
  • The technology used to make the umbrella windproof and waterproof may not be sufficient for extreme weather conditions
