Absolutely Amazing

This was the first 3D printer I bought. Originally I was planning to enter the world of 3D printing with an FDM printer, but then I saw samples of the quality prints that are obtained on DLP/resin printers and the very reasonable price of these printers. I did a little research and decided that as a beginner I would use the original Photon instead of the newer, more expensive version. This model exists and there is a lot of information about it and a lot of people use it. The difference in price for the new model didn't seem to confirm the difference. There is a learning curve with resin and this process can take time. I had issues initially, mainly with Level 1 sticking to the platen, but once I figured it out I was completely blown away by the quality of the prints that came out of this machine. I also had issues with the slicer that I couldn't fix, but on the advice of mfg support I switched to another open source slicer that supports Photon and have no regrets. I'll probably buy a paid slicer. The machine is good, but the success of a good print depends a lot on the slicer, and anything that simplifies the process costs a bit more money. There may be more modern and updated printer models available, but you absolutely can't go wrong with one. I also bought a Cure and Wash Station when I decided I liked this type of print. You don't need to, but anything that makes the process easier and takes less time is worth a little extra investment. I am now an Anycubic fan.
