Review on Rust-Oleum Specialty Paint 1913830 Chalkboard Spray, Black, 11-Ounce, 11 Ounce by Todd Markel

Wouldn’t use the spray version again

I am not a super crafty person, so take that into consideration. I thought this was a pretty good product I’m pretty easy to apply, but unlike other people I have started to run out after the first coat of my table top, so it didn’t go that far for me. I had some leftover chalkboard paint a Friend had given me years ago and ended up using that to finish with a sponge brush, and I found it much easier to apply and much calmer a process because I didn’t have stinky fumes everywhere and wasn’t worried about getting black spray paint over other things in the room. I think if I were going to do it again I would just stick with the normal chalkboard paint that comes in a can, not a spray.

Pros
  • Ideal for creating a custom interior chalkboard on multiple surfaces including wood, metal, masonry, drywall, plaster, glass, concrete, paperboard and hardboard
Cons
  • It's not suitable for outdoor use, as the finish fades quickly in sunlight
