This is a dual layer system which is why I bought it. I bought a second for my son and he loves the stand. Can't tell you how many times I dropped my phone without any issue. My son is a very lucky boy that I had a buy one get one phone free sale, therefore he has the exact phone. For a 9 year old, he hasn't broken his either and he loves the stand. That's his favorite part. I'll admit that the stand does come in handy, but not as much as I would have thought.
