Don't listen to naggers. This is a great ant farm!

We had this ant farm for 48 hours and enjoyed how fast the ants work. It's exciting and lets the whole family watch as the tunnels are formed. For those looking for an ant farm this seems like the place to be. There are people here who complain that there was no sand or ants in there. But it says they didn't read it carefully so for lack of research they gave it 1 star. Did they really expect the ants to live in the box for years until they bought it? If you want to give this as a gift, please buy the sand (play sand) in advance. Also included is a coupon for the correct ant species (collection) so if you know your way around. Receive the kit, open it to use the coupon online, close the box again. Buy sand while the ants take a week to give your child everything they need for this special day. People get so obsessed with telling their child to wait for the ants to show up that they forget there is a lesson to be learned. called patience. Our boys had the kit 2 weeks before the sand and ants finally settled. You know what? Nobody died! In fact, they were even more excited because of the anticipation. So I give 5 stars here. If you read the instructions, it says not to let water drip into it as it could mold. For people with mold. you haven't read the instructions. or you have the wrong sand. You must use this dropper, and just a few drops every other day will do. Play sand is wet and easy for ants to manipulate. Another piece of advice. Place the ants in the fridge for 5 minutes before adding them to the habitat. Not anymore, otherwise you would have killed her. Cooling will help get them inside so they don't fall on the counter. I felt a bit heavy and my finger was swollen and red. Pulsed and burned for 6 hours but I still give 5 stars because I was wrong thinking they don't bite. just be careful It's best to chill them first so they slide right into the hole. To those who complain about ants crawling out. That's some nonsense. They don't suddenly pop out when you open the hatch to put food or water in. It's great for home teaching and observation, but definitely an adult should take care of the assembly and maintenance.
