Review on Creative Stage Air: Portable & Compact USB-Powered Soundbar with Big Bass, Bluetooth, AUX-in & 6-Hour Battery Life by Kyle Cross

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good sound for what it is. Good compatibility. Not ideal as a dedicated computer speaker.

Very good sound for the size and price although the quality is not audiophile at all. The mids and basses are surprisingly good, but the highs can sound a bit muffled at times. Hardly any stereo separation. Good build quality. Bluetooth works fine. A bit clunky, like computer speakers - no way to connect via USB, so both a USB charging cable and an audio cable (or Bluetooth) are required. Creative recommends not leaving the charging cable plugged in all the time. It is imperative to go to the Creative website to get the updated firmware that will allow the device to work for 6 hours instead of 15 minutes. Even with this update, the soundbar needs to be turned on once or twice a day. If only stationary computer speakers are used and there is sufficient space, a more traditional pair of speakers may be preferable. If battery-powered mobility is desired, this soundbar is a great choice.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Reliable
