I like it though. in Clock Radios

I bought this radio mainly so my 2 year old can listen to fun kids music while we take a bath. Sounds great and could be quieter. Good in the bathroom with Echo. I just wish it wasn't so bulky and one could swap CDs without having to go to the back of the unit. If it's hanging from a shower arm on a tiled wall, you basically have to take it off to swap out the panes. However, small purchases are annoying. If I chose there, I would definitely buy it again.

Decent sound, uses batteries

This is the most serious shower radio I've seen. Sounds good, works good, controls are easy. Like most "waterproof" electronics, it is not indestructible. I met our first one in the pool and he died but we liked him so much we bought another one. Its only real downside is that it drains expensive C batteries very quickly, even when the CD player isn't being used. Since we no longer use CDs and are tired of buying batteries for them, it just hangs in the shower now. The iPod player on the…

Where have you been all my life!

After many hours of searching I found one with great reviews and bought it. It's been in daily use for almost three years and I've never been disappointed. He does exactly what he has to do. If you are looking for a quality product from a well-known brand, you have found it. I've read the one star reviews on this product and can only assume they got the lemon I think happens. But once you have yours, you'll become an instant fan and take your showering experience to a whole new level. This…

Two Died Best in Compact Radios and Stereos

I can't believe I'm considering buying a third of these. the first died about 5 years later. not that bad. the second died in less than a year. Was this made in China <G>? All I know is that it suddenly stopped working, its display showed that I needed new batteries. I put in new batteries, the display hasn't changed. Nothing worked. I bought new batteries and tried again. The same answer. Never dropped, just stands on a shelf in the shower. But I REALLY love Sony products and the Sony…

Great portable radio/CD player but uses batteries

I had this radio for two years and listened to it almost every day. Using the CD player charges up very quickly (maybe a day or so if you play it most of the day) so I just agreed to using the CD player from time to time. I estimate that I used the radio for at least a couple of hours an average of 4-5 days a week and used about 8 sets of batteries in a year. My friend stepped on the antenna cable that came out of this thing and ripped it out completely and I just smeared the end with glue, put

Best shower radio I've ever owned

Bought this radio over a year and a half ago and still works great Benefits 1) Digital presets: 10 FM, 5 AM. Much easier than fumbling with the dial to find a station 2) Lifespan: I've had it for almost 2 years now and it's still working well 3) Battery life: I use 4 rechargeable batteries and can usually work a full month before I do need a charge 4) Turns off when CD is done: all the others I've had didn't do this and drained the battery if you forgot to turn them off. lose your…

Pros

  • Can't remember but something happened

For decades I had to either talk on the radio or listen to music while I was showering or cleaning the bathroom. And I'm addicted to singing in the shower. So when my 7 year old Emerson CD/Radio was dying I got this one (my options were limited and it looked like the best of them all in terms of ratings and reliable operation). I like this CD player very much. /Radio. It takes up less counter space in my tiny bathroom, so I have a little more room for my beauty products, yay. It feels…

Don't put it on the shower floor

I had 2 exact same Sony ICF-CD73W models. The first lasted a long time and had a decent reception in the shower. Not very good, but I was usually able to get the right channel. A few years later the first died. I really liked this radio so I bought a new one. For the price you would expect them to be at least as waterproof as a waterproof watch worn in the shower. I have a water resistant watch that costs about the same and have showered with the watch for years. This radio is waterproof enough
