I am a skilled seamstress and have been working for 23 years with the same machine. Last week I had to bring my stationary Eddie into the store for the first time and was in dire need of a replacement/replenishment. Costs money.

Bought this machine to replace my 30 year old wonderful Kenmore 385. I didn't care what the machine looked like, I didn't want the machine to be computerized or I had a CD. started, I wanted to look at dials and knobs and see what they do. This machine has the most commonly used stitches in my opinion, nothing special, if you're looking for a lot of different stitches this machine isn't for you. It's mechanical what I wanted. I like the transparent window on the spool so I can keep an eye on it.

Old habits never die. I work from home as a seamstress and do a craft show at least once a month. I sewed on my trusty old Singer 247 for several hours a day until I had to adjust the time.
