Shark Bite Quarter Turn Valve

Used to replace low point drains on our caravan. They are durable and have a premium feel, chrome plated for durability. A quarter turn is strong and tight. The 3/8 end includes a copper compression ring. Top quality. If you found this review helpful, please click the Helpful Thanks button.

New intake valve on copper? Do yourself a favor and use them.

I just shut off the water supply, cut off the old, stuck valves, put them on the plugs and that's it. Misting new copper valves requires the system to be drained and sometimes flushed twice or more. A possible cost advantage is lost the first time, the second time.

1/2 " plug-in connection with 3/8 " water tap inlet thread

I think the previous owners of my house drilled it all in 1986 over the weekend. I have a lot of 1/2 inch PVC, not many shut-off valves, and some faucets that were horribly in need of replacement. These faucets are fantastic. This fitting goes straight from a pipe to a nut on the end of a kitchen faucet built in supply hoses after removing the small nut and brass ball from the threaded end The valve will not close and will not flow at all What more could you want?

Perfect seal in faucet parts

Many professional plumbing reviews condemn this product. I tend to think differently. I used this valve to replace a not-so-old plumber-installed ballless valve to supply water to my humidifier. I was prepared for some leaks when I installed the Shark unit, it was a perfect seal. Because it's a ball valve, I can now control the flow of water much more precisely than before. I practically had to use pliers to close the previous valve, so there was very little water. Look at the photos and you…

Saved me $280: Faucet Parts

This item saved me from a dishwasher changing nightmare. The store charged $280 to install my new dishwasher (probably required a plumber and an electrician). Electricity wasn't really needed since I could do it, but the plumbing scared me. I had to switch from a solid copper pipe connection to a flexible hose style, which meant cutting off the old copper pipe and figuring out how to connect the new flexible hose. Luckily my friend told me about where to just put it on the copper end without…

THESE THINGS ARE AMAZING!

I didn't have check valves for my faucet in my 1/2 bath and it was driving me crazy trying to put a new faucet in. Later, when I had a small leak, I had to turn off the whole house and pace up and down. back and forth. In the basement. Each time I had to check if the leak was fixed. Went to my True Value store, told them about my problem and they showed me this product. I was able to cut the pipe instead of trying to heat up the old sod and twisting things. I then put it on and attached the…

Great product - see update

Easy to use and no leaks. Makes plumbing work much safer. The flame is not needed. It's worth it. Update: February 1st, 2017 Eight months after installation I accidentally twisted this fitting when removing the top faucet hose. The SharkBite started leaking so I shut off the water supply and tried lowering the fitting to 1/2 the copper pipe. Vain. Still in flow. Decided to replace the SharkBite with a compression fit. Found the SharkBite removal tool, an au-shaped plastic device. I attached it…

Ideal for the DIY enthusiast

Speaking of simplicity and reliability, Shark faucets are a homeowner's dream. Can't pipes sweat due to limited space? Me too but I have now remodeled two bathrooms with these fixtures and in the time saved they have made the job cheaper and very easy for this DIYer. The connection to the dishwasher was leaking and wouldn't close, so I knew I had to replace the valve. I remember the rebar from Shark, I found these at Revain and it took me 5 minutes to cut out the old one, install this and I'm…

So easy to use, can't compete with the convenience and simplicity!

We had a water leak at the T-point in our industrial building from the old PB plastic pipe. Since these piping are obsolete and I don't have any crimping tools anyway, I looked into Sharkbite fittings as they claim you don't need any tools, just measure the depth and put on. I was a bit skeptical at first but I was in a bind so I bought two PB Pex fittings, Pex T and Pex Shut off. I watched a YouTube video before attempting the repair just to see what i have to do Cutting out the old T pipe…
