Low gain of this antenna. I have done a consistent comparison of this product to this one. I am in no way affiliated with other antennas, just speaking from my personal experience.

This antenna was purchased to improve input from the farthest outdoor camera to my Night Owl system. The original cam mount handle would not have been up to the task due to its position. By connecting a 10ft cable and placing the rooftop antenna closer to the controller with less walls etc in between, a reliable connection was established.

As long as they're around, they should be stronger. If you're using something that moves frequently, it might already be breaking mine.

This antenna makes no difference to my internal antenna in my laptop, despite the much better placement I still only have one band.

I bought this antenna for my Green Mountain Grill. This antenna has a higher gain than the one supplied with the grill. This works better as the original gave me 2 or 3 signal bars out of 5, but this new 22dBi antenna gives me 4 or 5 signal bars out of 5. That means a lot less random Wi-Fi dropouts.

TLDR: This antenna is no better than the stock antenna. . This item should be "High Gain" for better Wi-Fi signal. After replacing my OEM antenna on two different Wi-Fi devices (Alfa 2.4GHz and Pepwave 2.4GHz), neither showed any signal improvement. This applies to sending and receiving traffic. I used a signal measurement tool so I wasn't the only one guessing the performance. I have connected two of these antennas to outdoor wireless security cameras. New antennas installed in the attic. This change improved the signal level from a light 0-1 bar to a steady 2-3 bar. This eliminated the dropouts that had plagued the system when using the original smaller antennas mounted on the camera. I bought 2 packs and none of the 4 antennas are tuned to the correct frequency. This means you can get a very high SWR without boosting the signal. I opened one of these and have to admit the antennas are well made, but mine don't work. I tested them with my "Antenna Vector Analyzer" and they are far from ideal. Could it be that I only got the bad ones?

Just what I needed. When my toddler broke the anemic antenna on my grill, I jumped at the chance to quadruple the dbi. I no longer have signal problems. If you have the room for it and only need 2.5GHz then you will have a hard time beating this!
