1st I've had my Big Green Egg for about 10 years now. in that time I have broken 2 of the Ceramic heat deflectors, after awhile I guess from the heat they get very brittle, the first one I broke, maybe it did hit a little hard. the second I even bought a special tool to lift it, and with a very light hit it also broke. Well built. Cook beef or chicken on this ribbed flat top without touching the flames but with all the flavors of hickory, cherry or your favorite wood smoke. If you are used to using and properly maintaining cast iron this one is a cinch. Well worth the money as a "plate setter” for indirect cooking without being easily broken or cracked.

Item arrived, broken in a million pieces. Not only was no effort given to packaging it correctly the product itself is very weak ceramic.Definitely not work any price at all. I'll probably bite the bullet and get the original Green Egg product like I had before my old one finally wore out.

Arrived with one of the legs broken off. I've initiated the return and am trying to decide if I want to chance it again.It fit good in a large BGE. The product itself seemed a bit fragile, but not sure since I didn't get to use it.

Fits just fine - remember it is quite heavy and the ridges are not easy to clean of soot or grease, so I might recommend wrapping in foil. But it’s done an adequate job of creating an indirect heat flow for my smoker.

I've only had a chance to use it once to cook tandoori chicken and it worked just fine. I'm not sure if this one is the same as the original one but it appears to be a little shorter than the original.

I smoke a lot of meat on this, and it is well worth every penny. Easy clean up, you just flip it over each cook and then just use your hands to rub the rest of the fat juice off. My wife loves all the meat that I have smoked using this.Product I use— charbroil akorn smoker/grill

My original BGE plate setter split in 2 and the price was right for this model. If you have a large BGE as I do, this will do the job. It is a bit smaller than my original and you'll need to be careful to place the unit just right to fit on the ledge once that is done you're good to go.

Good quality and durable cast iron plate setter. The 3 prong flanges are not as thick as the ones on the green egg ceramic version. Thus, careful positioning of the grate is necessary when positioned on top of the flanges.

Perhaps I didn’t realize this before I purchased it, but there isn’t the same amount of room between the plate and the grate. This will only be an issue for when I need to put a drip pan in for smoking. Other wise it fits in the egg perfect.

Decent alternative, it's a bit smaller than the original BGE version, haven't used it yet so I can't comment on how it works. It does feel solid and was packed very well.

This product did not fit my Akorn 6520 as specified in the description. It was too large and did not fit in the saddles provided. I used it anyway as I needed to cook my BBQ ribs, but had to balance it on the bowl above the saddles.

Does not fit Akorn kamado grill as advertised. Other reviews note this as well. If you have an akorn kamado this will not rest on the plate holders inside the grill.

It doesn't quite sit on the 3 points in chargrill akorn 11620. It's a bit too large, and would rest about 1/2 inch higher than the 3 pedestal where it should sit. Still seems to does the job, over all not perfect fit as advertised.

Used it on my large Green Egg, excellent quality and fits perfectly. I use it to cook everything and have no problems with it.

Product showed up with a broken leg. Too big of a hassle to send back since it will technically work and is half the price of a green egg plate.

Did not fit my akorn smoker. I had a dinner party scheduled so I had to cut it to fit! No returning it now. Lol! I know not everyone has a masonry cutting wheel and tool to cut to fit. It was cheap and does the job. with modifications

I just received the product, but haven't used it yet. It appears to be well manufactured and much more durable than the original one I owned.

Fits perfectly in the large Big Green Egg.It is very well casted and finished; i wish the cast iron dutch ovens and skillets i paid more for were as nicely finished.Creates that 1”-ish gap all the way around the coal bed to circulate the hot air without the intense direct fire.I had a 14-hour-brisket-smoke drip plenty of excess past the drip pan and it cleaned up in a jiffy.I have never had an easier time dialing in and keeping a slow-low temp for such an extended cook.It is hefty, by all…

Heavy duty cast iron delivered on time and well packed. I will use it as an upper deck since it doesn’t fit inside the 15” Kamado like the grill grate. The cover will not close with this griddle but a good addition to the ceramic Kamado. The legs sits nicely on the outermost felt gasket.
