They worked like a charm

These were a pleasant surprise.I have an LS J2030H sub compact tractor that I put a 54" snow blower on this winter. My property is sloping and I found out quickly that even blowing the snow out of the tractors path, on the slopes the tractor did not have enough traction in 4wd to get up from the pole barn to the road. I had a set of V style chains for my old 4 wheels rear tires that sort of kind of fit on the front tires of my tractor. They worked like a charm, but they were sloppy and the…

Cons
  • Can be dangerous if not installed correctly

For discussion and review purposes, let's assume that correctly installed, fully functional "traditional tire chains" provide traction on various surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.) at the highest level of any user installed traction supplemental device. I will call this traditional tire chain traction level a "10" for comparison purposes to the Terra Grips.First, I have used "traditional tire chains" for more than 3 decades on various compact tractors. For the last 17…

Tough grips but tough to use as well

I picked up a set of 20x10x8 Terragrips for the 2014-2015 winter. This year the snow didn't stick around long for each occurrence. However, there were 3 hits of the wetter snow (no more than 6-ish inches at a time) that I used the grips installed on my turf tires on a lawn tractor. I was pushing the snow on a paved, rough-finish, asphalt driveway with both flat and slight grade conditions. The snow blade installed was part of the consideration for both up and down slope spot as opposed to a…

These turned my riding mower into a hill climbing machine.

I had a 20yr old piece of junk mower that would go anywhere without chains, regular turf tires. I just bought a newer bigger Husqvarna with same tires and it just sits n spins on the slightest hill. I hate it but it looks good and stuff doesnt fall off while mowing. I got these mainly for the yard and not disappointed. They really grip in and will dig ruts like chains if you start spinning. Roll the mower back and forth to get slack out when installing. I put rubber tie downs on which greatly…

Pros
  • With these tire chains, you'll always have exceptional grip, providing you with the traction you need to stay safe on any terrain
Cons
  • May decrease overall tire lifespan

Surefootedness for my opinion

I didn't think I was going to get a chance to try these in the mud this year. Last week was my first mow of the season, but it is unseasonably dry this year. So I only got to test these on the hills. But I was impressed. Going around trees on steep hills, or even just going downhill always required backward wheel spin to slow or steer. Not with these on. So much more control and confidence. Ascents are not really this machine's forte, but even those seemed to require less power and give a…

Great Quality - Not So Easy To Install

I ordered the TerraGrips Tire Chains for my John Deere X304 lawn tractor. The rear drive tires are size 20x10x10. The ST90002 is advertised to include this size of tire plus two others. I was able to install these and they work well however it took at least 30 minutes of repositioning them in order to just get them connected. There is approximately a 10" gap between the rubber slats where the installation is made. The distance between the remaining rubber grips is approximately 4 1/2". I am…

Cons

Great Traction In snow! And some ice.

The reason Why I only gave it three stars for installing is it took me about 30 minutes to get it on one wheel. now it was new and hadn't been broken in yet so it might be easier this year we will see. I bought this last fall looking for something that wouldn't scratch our newly pave driveway I live in Wisconsin and in 2019 we go about 1 1/2 feet of snow and in past years the problem would be traction this year it was weather the mower had enough power to push the snow not traction. in fact I…

Pros
  • The TerraGrips Tire Chains are priced affordably, offering you top-quality traction at a reasonable cost
Cons
  • May not be suitable for off-road or extreme terrain driving

Love the Tera grips

Love these grips.just wish that they would come with a tool or something to help tighten or lockdown together because they unlock and come off , had to add zip ties to hold them from un clipping on the front and back sides, besides that best chains ever on the market for tractors. Don’t mark driveways, love how you get much better traction with these then you do than if you had the chain ones , definitely I made best choice of going this direction.

Pros
  • Versatility
Cons
  • Can become dislodged during use

Terra Grip rubber chains worked great for ice under snow

Have a 1996 Cub Cadet 2155 lawn tractor with mower deck and 2 stage snow blower. Previously used metal chains on the older concrete driveway but have a new concrete drive. Don't want to damage the new concrete with metal chains so wanted try the rubber chains. The last 9 inch snowfall started as freezing rain first so there is ice on the concrete. Traction is bad with the Cub Cadet with bare tires and have been stuck in the driveway. Had more snow today, used the rubber chains with the slippery

Pros
  • Long-lasting performance: Whether you're facing snow, mud, or steep inclines, these chains will give you the durable support you need to keep going
Cons
  • Can puncture or damage the tire if not installed carefully

Excellent product. I was torn between the TerraGrips and steel chains. I was concerned about damage to my driveway with the steel chains when snow blowing but concerned that the TerraGrips would not give me the traction I needed. I’m happy to say the TerraGrips have exceeded my expectations. I have a John Deere X530 tractor with a 47” snowblower, HDAP tires, and 4 42lb. suitcase weights. The dealers will tell you that you don’t need chains with the HDAP tires but that is bad advice. I have a…
