Review on πŸš— Dorman 741-664 Front Driver Side Power Window Motor Regulator Assembly for Ford/Mercury Models by Joseph Hall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy enough to install, just buy your own bolts and nuts before installation.

This was a proactive replacement for a sick regulator. When I was done, it was the difference between day and night. My driver's window goes up and down quickly and doesn't snag in cold weather. Note to prospective buyers: as it turns out, nuts and bolts are not included. So make sure you have two 1/4 x 1" screws for the window mount and two 1/4" x .75" screws for the bottom of the regulator, two 1/4" diameter x .75" for governor motor ports that don't have an adjacent lip hanging from the door panel, and a 1/4" diameter x .5" screw for the motor hole closest to the aforementioned hanger lug. You will need 7 nuts to match the thread count of the bolts you choose (most commonly used: 1/4"-20 I think). Use masking tape to remove moisture barrier, use punch to knock out cores of old rivets. , drill out with a 1/4" drill bit, lower the window all the way, pull out the old regulator, insert the new regulator and finish in reverse order, done. Automotive 1/4" blind rivets and a rivet gun are even better since you don't have to play around with nuts.
