Review on 100 Unique Gel Pens Set - Artlicious ULTIMATE Collection | Non Toxic & Acid Free | Perfect For Coloring Books! by Noel Schmits

Revainrating 4 out of 5

One of the best buys I've had from Walmart

I tried every single pen after I got the shipment (2 colors, both Henri Matisse' fave, bubble gum pink and fresh green don't work; roller ballpoint malfunctioned). The flow was good; not excessive or sparse. Gel ink doesn't bleed thru my 68lb paper. The colors are mostly vibrant. Although there's no pen the same but some colors can look very similar except the type of ink used (pastel, glitter, or metallic). The non sparkly/metallic colors can look rather flat on white paper but that's expected. I personally love the glitter pens. They are so fun to color and write; the ink really, really glitters!Attached is the elephant coloring I did after receiving my pens. It was done entirely using these gel pens.Edit 2017 (for those who like gel pens and black card stock for journaling)I did a test on black paper (painting quality paper). The result is surprising. What work for white may not work for black. The ink that is semi translucent doesn't work on black. Also, the pigment would change hues on black. The same color may look differently on black stock. The white color pen is worthless. The word "100" was written with a Uniball white ink pen. Uniball isn't a marker. The white numbers I wrote on my pen covers can be rub off, unlike the black numbers done with a Sharpie.I suggest having a test sheet before coloring or writing. Also, it is a good idea to number your pens. It is good for tracking what pens were used.(The last photo was taken outdoor under sunlight)Edit 2022:About half of the pens stopped working (still have ink). The Sakura gel pens I also have since 2018 all are still working. As much as I liked the price of this set, I’d stick to Sakura.

Pros
  • The caps are designed to seal tightly, which helps to prevent the ink from drying out
Cons
  • May smudge easily
