Review on Heavy Duty 23-Lbs Pre-Filled Round Patio Umbrella Base With Sun-Flower Pattern For Outdoor, Swimming Pool, And Market Umbrellas - Black by Mark Perry

Buy stackable weights.

I bought this for my 10ft patio umbrella and it's not sturdy enough. There's just the plate that's maybe 3in off the ground and then one screw that's suppose to hold a small pole AND the 10ft umbrella. While it's heavy enough to keep it down. There's only (technically) 3in that are holding the entire thing together. Think of those triangle tripods, the middle rod hold the item while the three legs keep it steady, sturdy, and upright. this does non of it. One could argue that the umbrella os too big, sure. However, it still needs something to keep the rod itself upright because it doesn't do that. There's literally one screw underneath to keep it together and another "tightening" screw at the very top. Try adding 3 of those with extra hight and then you'll have a successfully executed umbrella weight.I saw great reviews. But they must have only had it for a few hours to admire it. I at least waited till I had a decent review of it. While it it pretty it looks like I'm going to have to add those unpleasant weight bags that hold the pole in order to keep it from tilting.

Pros
  • Appeared to be strong but wasn’t
Cons
  • Slightest gust of wind and my 9ft umbrella tipped right on over
