Review on Quilting Marking Essentials Bundle: 10 Tailor'S Chalks, 4 Heat Erasable Fabric Markers With Refills, And 3 Sewing Fabric Pencils by Tim Curd

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Marking did not come out of the fabric.

I started a sewing course a couple months ago and as part of the course we have to test out different ways of marking on the fabric when transferring our patterns onto our fabric. I ordered several different types and brand of sewing markers and tested them all out side by side on a piece of 100% cotton fabric. (as seen in the photos) I made one exact copy of the markings on another piece of fabric and then washed and dried that second piece of fabric on delicate cycle in the washing machine. I then put the two pieces of fabric side by side to compare. Lo and behold. The 'Fabric Pen' you can see on the photo left quite heavy stains on the washed fabric, the blue chalk marker was slightly fainter but surprisingly also didn't fully wash out. The pink dressmaking pencil at the very bottom was a complete disappointment because I could hardly apply it onto the fabric in the first place it was too faint to see. So all in all, all the three types of markers in the package failed my test in one way or another. However the other types of markers (not in this package for sale) did not ! So I will be using those instead.
