Review on πŸ“€ Optical Quantum 2X 25GB BD-RE Blu-ray Blank Discs (Pack of 10) – Logo Top (MPN: OQBDRE02LT-10) by Gabe Evans

Inexpensive Blu-ray Rewritable Discs Average Rewrites

Update: When I just started using the new Blu-ray drive, I realized that the old drive mentioned below is probably is not compatible with these discs. Although the user manual states 2x the BD-RE discs, the drive actually records 2.3x. The extra speed can be the cause of the problems listed below. My guess is that rewriting at the wrong speed can cause corruption to build up on the drive, leading to failure. The new drive actually reports and writes discs 2x. At the moment all writes on the new disk have been successfully verified. However, this does not address the durability issue that requires time and using these drives on a new drive. My tip: Pay attention to the speed at which the recording program writes, which it uses. If you select 2x and the software overwrites a speed greater than 2x, or if you select "maximum speed" and the drive selects a speed greater than 2x, it is very likely that the drive is incompatible with those drives . I can't tell if the hard drives or the drive or both are to blame. It is disappointing that after more than 20 years of optical media development such incompatibilities can arise. I have used several of these discs with an internal LG Blu-Ray drive and tested whether they can be read with a Blu-Ray player. Now I've had them long enough to run into a couple of crashes after less than 10 rewrites. For this reason I lowered my rating to 2 stars. However, if the burning is successful, the discs work fine on both my computer and the Blu-ray player. If your disc burning software offers a "Write Check" feature, I recommend using it on all discs.
