Review on Gregory Mountain Products Baltoro Backpack Backpacks by Kristen Campbell

Pivot frame and weight distribution Issue

The unique heavy-duty wishbone frame distributes weight in the lower lumbar region, which has proven to be a major issue for my relatively aged lower back. For older hikers with aging rims, I only recommend frames that distribute the weight across your hips. The backpack is also a bit heavy which adds to this problem. The included lumbar pillow really helps if the back is generally properly adjusted. This extra weight is in part due to the wonderful array of zippered access flaps that greatly improve access and gear organization. a particularly large back wall with two side walls next to each other. The two zippered top panels are also very roomy and accessible. I bought the 65 liter version hoping it would have enough room for an extended four season weekend hike, which it did, but space was at a premium and it took some time to properly repack for the next run was.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • There are more interesting possibilities.
