Definitely not advise to buy, the product is disappointing.

This laptop's annoying whistle is the only thing that can't be overlooked. Even at low speeds, it makes more of a whistling sound than a roar. Due to individual differences, some people simply will not listen or comprehend. After a couple of hours of initial setup, I developed a terrible headache. No matter how peaceful the environment or how late it is, I cannot concentrate on this laptop. The stationary one next to it is a lot less noisy and doesn't make nearly as much of a whistle. I'll give it another shot and send it back to them in the off chance they'll accept it. Cheap plastic, a cheap keyboard, an ill-conceived and hot cooling system, non-standard and power supplies with some kind of unnecessary contacts; if this is not a marriage, but as the manufacturer intended, then I can understand and forgive everything HP had; however, I did not expect such a shame from HP, and especially not on a non-hot processor. You can't tell if the issue is with the fan itself or with the skewed layout of the air vents unless you take it apart.

Pros
  • Slim, lightweight, and surprisingly nimble for mental work activities; this i5/8GB/SSD512 package is ideal.
Cons
  • The assembly isn't great, and it's easy to tell that the keyboard was cheaply made. however, it appears to be devoid of any unusual jambs. Whine of the air conditioner at high pitch even at idle
