Review on Enhanced Logitech X-140 2.0 Speaker System by Ted Slaughter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My eardrums are still pounding with cool bass.

Say that? "Cool bass?" I tried. I bought them with my Acer Aspire laptop which I last bought with a tax refund and the speakers make my computer more of an entertainment center when I'm too lazy to hook it up to my TV. I want to give them a full five stars but I can't, I would give them 4.5 if I could but unfortunately Revain won't let me. decent range - volume is very good - LED indicator when on - little/no feedback when handling the plug when the speakers are on. It may have to do with placement, but I don't get any complaints, the speakers sit about a foot above where my laptop sits on my desk. Disadvantages: - There is a "click” when turning off the speakers. sticky and has to be turned to min/max several times. I guess I'm the only one having a problem with that. - Doesn't work well with the built-in Dolby Home Theater audio optimizer - not too bad, but I had to create a separate set of profiles for the audio while it was plugged in. Generally excellent little speakers that are definitely worth the money and the only downsides they have are minor things that don't affect the sound quality. I take them to game nights because they're so loud I don't need surround sound.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • High price
