Review on πŸ“Ά Hawking HAI6SIP: Boost Your Wireless Signal Range with Hi-Gain 6dB Omni-Directional Antenna by Joshua Flake

It's receiving a signal to our Marina

I've had this antenna for 6-8 years and I've lived in this house for 11 years. Our pier is about 100 meters from the house. Our main network devices are centrally located on the ground floor and the WiFi in the house worked quite well, even in some spots upstairs. Shortly after moving in we bought a second wireless router which we set up upstairs to try and extend coverage to a docking station and it worked great upstairs or on the back porch. You could "see" the router from the dock above, but it wasn't powerful enough to use. I then bought this antenna to try on the router above and it fixed the problem unless it's a rainy day! When we need access to a Wi-Fi dock, we open a window and mount the antenna on the railing outside the window while keeping the router inside. When the window is closed and the antenna is inside, the signal is not as strong. On rainy days people don't usually use their computers outside so this works great. Right now 3 people including 2 visitors are working (really!) out on our dock with this 7 year old antenna. I gave her 5 stars because I can't complain about her. It works in our situation, is reliable for years, inexpensive (when I bought it) and I use it outdoors (only during those very sporadic hours/days when I need it) when it really is an indoor antenna.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Some errors
