Excellent Wi-Fi speed when using bridge mode with TP-Link router

I've been using this Arris router for 5 months and my configuration works very well. I'm a Comcast customer in Denver on a Triple Play package (TV, Internet, Phone). The internet plan I use is 250 m/s (download speed). I used a Comcast modem and paid $13 a month rent. The speed was less than 100 m/s. My new configuration shows amazing speeds. Get downloads up to 299mps over a 5GHz connection, although speeds drop on weekdays during the workday. At first I was concerned that switching to a store-bought modem/router would force me to call Comcast, and I expected the answer would not change. But I never had to speak to Comcast. I connected the modem to the coaxial cable and connected my phone line. After a few minutes of setup and the lights blinking, my laptop's browser automatically connected to the Xfinity IP address and the messages said the conversion would happen automatically. It took a while for the system to do a lot of settings and finally I got a message saying there was a problem and I need to call a special phone number. I was expecting a push at the time but it was an automated system and after answering a few questions the system said that Xfinity would send out a strong signal to reset the modem and that would take some time. I gave the option to enter my mobile number and Xfinity calls back 10 minutes after the reset. After the reset was complete, the Arris modem and router were connected to the network and our phone service was working. Hooray! After 10 minutes I received an automated call and replied that everything was working. Reading previous reviews, some reviewers have indicated that the Wi-Fi speeds are slower than expected. I was also having slow speeds on my Arris modem/router. No more than 85ms. So I bought another router from Revain, TP-Link AC1750. I entered the Arris modem/router settings in my browser (10.0.0.1) and changed the setting to enable bridge mode (see image). I then connected an ethernet cable from the Arris modem/router to the internet port on the TP-Link router. Bridge mode essentially disables the Arris modem router's capabilities and redirects the internet signal to the TP-Link router. The Arris modem will continue to work with the phone. I changed the SSID name and password on the TP-Link router. For the first five months, I got very fast WiFi speeds on a 5GHz connection. I keep modems on a high shelf in the basement and can still get great speeds on the second floor of our house. Actually, we have no problem streaming TV on the second floor. Soon the savings from not paying Comcast modem rental will pay off with two modems I bought and I'll be getting amazing Wi-Fi speeds.
