Review on Travel In Style: Refillable Leather Notebook Cover For Small Journals by Kevin Garcia

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good, Bit Soft: my feedback

It's not bad but it is quite soft. Easily scratched but you can rub light ones out with your finger, it adds character overtime but some may hate that. Mine has a rather large production serial on the inside cover, which along with the leather being a bit too soft is why it's not four stars. I'd love to see international sizes like A6 be made. I am going to try to treat this with a fat-wax mixture which conditions and waterproofs the leather which hopefully will also protect it a bit more. So far no bleeding onto fabric from the dye so that's good.Update: This leather is very thirsty. I did a coating with brown shoe polish (since I got the brown version) then 2-3 coats of a natural animal fat - beeswax leather conditioner and waterproofer that I use on my boots. It soaked up very fast and well. Its enough to handle some light water and make it bead up. I think it needs at least another 2-3 coats to shed anything significant but that's ok. It does make the leather a bit stiffer but nothing crazy. I've increased to four stars after the treatment since it took it well.
