I have a hot tub at our lake house. Draining the water with a regular water hose can take forever. (Gravity drainage only). After a few hours it is empty and I can start the cleaning process and then fill it up again. There must be a faster way! I started looking for submersible water pumps. Some of the powerful will quickly be depleted at a very high cost. Others were much slower. It arrived yesterday and I used it right away! I bought it for five main reasons: 1. It has all the different connectors to connect different types of drain hoses. Due to the location of my hot tub, I have to drain the hose about 50 feet away. Everything was included (except for the actual drain hose).2. It's fast. At just under 2,000 gallons per hour, it drained my hot tub in about 15 minutes. This saved me a lot of time so I could clean and polish the hot tub.3. Has an automatic shut-off valve. Some other pumps have this, but it's internal. Of course, the hot tub is clean, but there may be leaves and debris in the pool, lake water, basement, or elsewhere. These deposits can block the operation of the pump (burn out the motor) or damage the impeller. This device has a float valve. When the water level is low, it will turn off.4. It's easy to use - Safe. It is very quiet.5. It's well built. This is not a cheap engine. It's heavy and well built.
