Review on Toyo Observe G3-Ice 235/45 R17 94 winter by Velizar Chayshev ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not exactly the product I wanted, price and quality don't match.

Despite the fact that all of the requirements for the other attributes have been met, I will no longer accept this type of rubber. As a point of reference, the car before this one had a studded Cordiant SnoMax. In comparison to Japanese, rubber is loud and tends to float at speeds more than 70 kilometers per hour. However, over the two winters that followed, not a single spike came loose (even when driving on asphalt). I was able to sell it to someone as a little used item, making the transaction profitable. Please do not regard anything I say here as an endorsement of Cordiant. I hope that everyone is successful in locating good tires.

Pros
  • Comfortable - quiet (for studded), soft. It snows quite a little. Made in Japan.
Cons
  • Even though I hadn't polished it yet, I had to be extra cautious that first winter because quite a few spikes popped out in front of the vehicle. On occasion, however, I would hear a "bang," which indicated that a spike had been dislodged. Even though I had done it numerous times previously, I had the impression that I had messed up this time. I tried moving the rear wheels forward during the second winter, but I got the same outcome. Now, between 30 and 40 percent of the studs on all four wheels are missing.
