Review on TP-Link Deco X60: Ultimate Whole-Home Mesh Wi-Fi3-Pack with WiFi 6 AX3000 by Adam Orlowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best product, from those that I have viewed, I advise everyone!

I replaced the TP-LINK Deco X60 with a bunch of three Keenetic Air connected in a mesh wi-fi network, and in short: the cost is twice as high and the result is twice as good! The stability of the mesh network on Keenetics was not very good, largely due to the fact that the reception between the points was at C grade - now I forgot about the dumps of the network segments. Completely imperceptible switching between points and iron stability. In terms of coverage, the reception and maximum return of the tariff of 200 mb / s are twice as confident over almost the entire area of \u200b\u200ba two-story house. In my conditions, the ideal recipe is two points per floor of 150 squares, on the second floor there is now one point in the middle and there are drawdowns in the far corners of the rooms. I think to take one more set: the second point on the second floor, the point on the window to cover the local area and one more point to the summer house. IMHO: If you have thick main walls, a complex layout with a large number of rooms, then for an ideal girth I recommend based on the calculation of one point per 50 squares. At the same time, one should try to place points in the corridors and in the middle, and not along the edges of this area.

Pros
  • Large and confident coverage Nice design and compact size of the dots themselves Power supplies in white, in the color of the dots themselves Clear and at the same time dim LED indicator shining under the dot and non-irritating at night Gigabit dual-port switch on board, which helped out a lot in some moments Interesting parental time control for specific devices, DAmazon, QoS, Antivirus
Cons
  • Spoils the impression of a large and long power supply that takes up a lot of space or even overlaps a nearby outlet! If you have a block of sockets on the wall of 3 or more pieces, then the power supply has to be plugged only into the last socket. We need to make a compact square power supply, because now even 60w laptop chargers are smaller! Inability to configure through the web interface. As an old believer and admin, I would like to have a full-fledged web interface besides the only application on the phone for configuration. Only for typical usage scenarios ala home router with huge wi-fi coverage. Many things are abolished here for the sake of simplicity and ease of customization. You should not compare this solution with anything from Mikrotik. Cost, but having tried in work - I will buy another set without a doubt. It is a pity that without buying, you will not know the real coverage. Maybe the junior solutions in the deco line are not much worse. I would really like to try their solutions with powerline on board (a network between points through an electrical outlet), but their radio part is worse than that of these X60 points.
